Dana White Promises No Cuts Following UFC 108

UFC 108 was a card that took more hits than Tiger Woods' sponsorship deals, but in the end the fighters all came out to perform and put on one of the most enjoyable shows to kick off 2010.

Matchmaker, Joe Silva, burned up a ton of minutes on his cell phone calling fighter after fighter to replace others who were forced off of the card due to injuries, cuts, and other various problems.

A night of exciting finishes brought about the usual fight bonuses, with one of them handed to Paul Daley for knockout of the night. A reporter asked White, who withheld giving a bonus to Anthony Johnson following his knockout of Yoshiyuki Yoshida because he missed weight, why he gave Daley a bonus, who also missed his weight just a day earlier.

"There is no guy on this card that will be penalized tonight," White said. "Nobody's going to be cut tonight, nothing's going to happen to anybody tonight. Everybody's going to make money tonight and leave here happy as hell."

Good news for short notice fighters like Duane "Bang" Ludwig and Dustin Hazelett who helped push the show to the finish line in the final weeks. It looks like there won't be any stories about who is looking for a job post UFC 108.

Even UFC heavyweight, Shane Carwin, sent out a reminder to fans that oh so long ago, he was actually supposed to compete at UFC 108.

"I am supposed to be making weight right now for my fight with Lesnar. What a difference a year makes," Carwin commented via his Twitter page.

Hazelett OK After Parisyan Withdrawal

He's disappointed, but Dustin Hazelett says he's moving on after Karo Parisyan withdrew Thursday from their scheduled fight at UFC 106.

"Everything happens for a reason, and I trust God's plan," Hazelett told MMA Insider just hours after the news was confirmed.

Hazelett received his show/win money from the UFC and assurances he would be put on the next available card.

He plans to stay in Vegas with his cornermen and several family members who've flown in and watch the fights.

"It's out of my hands, so I've got to make the best of it," he said.

Hazelett Out of Action with Torn ACL

UFC welterweight Dustin Hazelett was forced to withdraw from his UFC 96 bout with Ben Saunders due to a knee injury, but didn't know how severe it was until after he notified the UFC.

Hazelett found out he had suffered a complete tear of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament, or ACL, for which he underwent surgery eight weeks ago.

Hazelett says he is working hard to bring his knee back, and has even begun to jog a little bit on the treadmill.

"The people doing the rehab on my knee say I'm way ahead of schedule," Hazelett told MMAInsider.

If all goes well with his physical therapy, he should be able to train again in six months. But he's skeptical on his prospects for fighting in 2009.

"I'll be lucky if I can get a fight in by the end of the year," he said.
