GSP's Final Word on Greasegate? B.J. Should Focus on Improving

I like GSP and he probably didn't intentionally grease. However, I think his corner man did intentionally grease him and Dana White even said the same. GSP would have won anyway and BJ should stick to 155 but it wasn't fair to BJ.
I didn't see enough rubber guard attempts or submission attempts in general from B.J. for him to justify saying that he couldn't grip him well on the ground. At the same time, sweat makes guys slippery as well. I am not saying for sure that grease wasn't applied by a GSP cornerman, however, B.J. was getting completely dominated the entire fight, he was exhausted and quite possibly embarrased. Any way you look at it, GSP won the fight because he trained his ass off while B.J. was doing what B.J. does.
I am canadian and can't stand GSP...he has a baby chin and other than hughes he has not faced any real top level fighters at 170!! we will see against alves what he can do when faced with a real striker....people are trying to lump him in with the best pound 4 pound or the best of all time....but his record and name opposition don't match with silva, liddell, couture, penn , fedor,henderson...just to name a few!! when he really does something to talk about and puts some big names on his resume from 170 and maybe 185 then it will be a point to argue!!
the small amount of "grease" had zero impact on that fight. during a fight, a fighter will sweat and that makes its harder to grapple and submit people, joe rogan says that in every fight where a fighter tries a late 3rd round submission attempt.
yeah gsp has not beaten anyone of substance...penn(x2), hughes (x2), trigg, mayhem, fitch, koscheck, karo...all guys that we in the WW top 10 when they fought
Hasn't fought anybody at 170???? Are f-ing high??? Sherk, Penn(2), Fitch, Hughes(2), Koscheck, Trigg, Parysian... Who does he have to fight to satisfy you??? He's going to crush Alves, and then take on Anderson Silva... There isn't anybody left to fight in his division!!! You call yourself a Canadian... You're a moron!!!!
tojofu77, you have no idea what you're talking about. Fighters that GSP beat that were all in the top 10 when he faced them (some still are): Hughes 2x BJ 2x Frank Trigg Jon Fitch Josh Koscheck Sean Sherk Karo Parisyan That's 9 or GSP's 20 professional fights. Almost half of his fights have been against the best in the world and his record is 18-2. You go find someone else with a resume like that and I guarantee they're in the discussion for P4P best.
Just in case you're interested my P4P list goes like this, Anderson Silva, Fedor, Miguel Torres, GSP. Just wanted to show I wasn't a GSP nuthugger.
GSP is a cheater. The fight should have been ruled a no contest just like the Sakuraba vs Akiyama fight. Greasing could have changed the outcome of the fight. BJ couldn't use his guard, took punishment from inferior positions, and probably was tiring from being in those inferior positions. If there was no greasing nobody knows if GSP would have been able to pass BJ's guard. BJ would have been working for submissions.
I rewatched the fight on Spike and there was a great disparity between round 1 and rounds 2 - 4 (when GSP had grease applied). GSP did not dominate BJ, had trouble getting him to the ground and couldn't keep BJ on the ground. After round 1, GSP was able to slide out of any hold BJ applied and slide in and out of side mount. BJ wasn't given the chance to win or lose the match because GSP cheated. UFC wants this to go away so they can embrace their great Canadian Champion. UFC purposely failed to show any of the controversial footage during the Spike replay. This should be a NC and a suspension to GSP.
At least GSP comes off as a total ass in the video. "BJ needs to focus on things to make himself a better fighter." Maybe you can teach BJ ways to cheat and be a better fighter like you.
Hughes called him out for greasing. Sherk called him out for greasing. The commission stopped the fight because they caught him greasing. It's sad that BJ is losing his credibility instead of GSP who cheated.
Great comeback there Cory "wrong" with BJ fans like that, it's no wonder Penn is becoming more despised then ever before. GSP could have worn a gi in the cage and it wouldn't have made a difference.
Honestly guys, vaseline or not, BJ was out of shape, looked slow and did not come to fight like he claimed he was. He was dominated and like BJ fans, continues to look for excuses over his loss. Get over it already, once GSP tosses Alves to the curb and establishes himself at the WW P4P, we'll have a nice rematch with Penn to finally shut you guys up.
Hughes whined (oh but not for his victory of course), Serra whined, Sherk whined only after this "controversy" come out. Out of all recent fights, only Fitch has the respect to admit GSP was the better fighter. Of course fighters are going to make excuses, it's a perfect way to cover up the fact they lost to a better fight, get over it already.
And if UFC wanted this to go away, why would White acknowledge what happened? UFC isn't sweeping this under the rug, it's fans that recognize that the outcome would NOT HAVE CHANGED ONE BIT. You could have drowned BJ in grease and he still would have lost, he showed up not ready for this fight and it showed.
Its hard for the GSP fans to understand what people are talking about when it comes to Greasegate, b/c the Spike Replay does not show ANY of the greasing or any of the incident whatsoever. Just Google it and you will find out what people are talking about. He was Greased. Period. The NSAC officials were there and caught Jackson camp red handed. Liddel was there and also witnessed it alerting the NSAC officials. Dana White saw it and admitted to it. the UFC ended up changing its rules about who, when, where, and how grease (vasoline) can be applied to fighters as a result of this fight.
And, yes, it did have an impact on the fight. Would GSP have still one, who knows, maybe. He was definitely on top of his game. BJ should have been wearing some Shinya Aoki tights since he "knew" in advance that GSP had a greasing history.
In the end, the greasing ruined the fight. GSP is really sensitive to all this b/c he doesn't want to lose his sponsors.. he's in this for the money more so than BJ who comes from a wealthy family -- just my impression.
Phil Nurse tried to cheat by rubbing vaseline on GSPs back, but the ringside officials caught it and wiped it off. BJ was just simply out matched in that fight, he got severly dominated. GSP won BJ loss! Lets move on guys, theres way more worthy opponents out there like Thiago Alves, Anderson Silva & even Demian Maia.
I just love when people admit GSP cheated and then claim it didn't matter. well it obviously mattered to GSP or he wouldn't have cheated and it obviously matters to BJ or he wouldn't still be pissed off about it.
I'm high???....k well i guess being high helps cuz if you wanna put down your little list for gsp showing how good his opponents have been let's break that down....you say these guys were all top ten....ok fair enough..but why were they top 10??...amount of fights?? name opponents that they got big wins against??trigg,sherk...lots of fights yes, but big wins against other big names not so much..kos and fitch a little better but spotty records aganst name opponents. As far as Karo Parisyan, he has a so-so record against name opponents...not to mention the wins he does have good opponents or not are decision after decision! So now you are down to penn and hughes .. the first time against BJ he got a gift from the judges like it or not...no arguement 2nd time gsp all the way....no arguement on hughes..he got pounded twice!! So again i never said he can't fight or that he was no good, just not best p4p.. now or of all-time..after a few more big fights with him owning guys hey no problem then you can make the arguement!!So if your gonna go anonymous and comment on well thought out comments or say rude shit like calling people moron for thinking for themselves ...say something with fact behind it not just names you know cuz ya got into mma in the last 2-3 years!!!

BJ got beat pure and simple.
GSP cheated no matter how you want to morally justify it.
Should be ruled a NC and move on.
If george is looking to give BJ advice maybe he can give him advice on how to stop a opponent who is trying to cheat.
What george did took away BJ's abilitly to hold Geroge in his closed guard. It took away BJ's best asset on the ground. His flexabilty.
If you think that wouldnt make a differnece in a fight for a BJJ world Champion like BJ. PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS.
Everyone from Dave Cameriallo to Keith Kizer says it was unfair and limted BJ's performence.
A camera man openly said he knew george was gonna do this before hand.
Keith Kizer caught him in the cage.
There is a point were Phil Nurse puts some vaseline in his pocket. George watches him do it and says nothing.
George needs to take a long look in the mirror and decide if he should be giving advice or if he should forfite that belt.
Because he cheated and thats a fact.
