MMA Live Talks Retirement for Two Big Names & Recaps UFC 103

On this week's episode of MMA Live on ESPN.com the crew talks about the possible retirements of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. They also take a look back at Vitor Belfort and UFC 103 in Dallas.

I think a lot of Cro Cop but he needs to change game plans or retire. He didn't look good at all against Dos Santos. Wasn't aggressive at all and couldn't defend his punches either. I'd like to see him drop to light heavy. He isn't that big, it would just be like Couture dropping. I think he walks around 220 or 225. He would make a great asset to that division. A fight at light heavy between him and Anderson Silva would be awsome!

Tice dude, I feel the exact same way! In fact I echoed your sentiments almost verbaitum in a blog a few days ago when Rampage threw in the towel (no pun in intended). Cro Cop could be very dangerous at 205, I just don't think he has the commitment to training that it would require. Anybody who flies in the day before or the day of the weigh-ins from half-way around the world, isn't taking this game half as serious as he needs to be. I don't know if anybody caught it, but during the pre-fight presser Dana made a snide comment about Cro Cop setting the record for most presser's missed. I think if he doesn't move down in weight, we might have seen the last of him in the octagon. Let's face it he beat Sanchez in his first fight in very lackluster fashion (is Sanchez even fighting anymore?) got crushed by Gonzaga, beat down by Kongo, sat out for two years (except for a couple of tomato can victories over in Japan that left something to be desired as well, I heard) and then had to poke al-Turk in the eye to insure the stoppage in his last fight. No way he beats a top 5 heavy. If he ever got the chance, Lesnar would freakin' crush the dude! For the record, I am a fan of Cro Cop, but his best days are behind him I fear. I just don't think he drops to LHW, but he definately should.

to me the biggest problem he has and may of always had is his conditioning. If he can fix that(which maybe he cant) then he would be ok in my opinion.

Somebody get rid of Kenny Focker Florian. This guy should be the last person giving his opinion about other fighters. If somebody criticizes him he cries like a baby. He didn't like it though when Josh Barnett told him to shut up.

Crop Cop Vs Anderson Silva proposed above...Hahahahahaha.

What a Joke. Silva victorious by toying with him like a girl.

Much repect to Cro Cop but the sport has more than caught up with him. Heavy *OR* Light Heavy, period.

Oh fuck, another person who thinks Anderson Silva can walk through anybody. He is good but there is no way in hell he could walk through Cro Cop. You probably think the Spider would walk through Lesnar or Fedor too. Anderson Silva is good but the only top light heavy fighter he has beat is Forrest. The light heavy is the strongest division so don't start hyping him as Muhammed Ali just yet.

Silva walked through James Irvin and laid him out in about a minute. So he's two for two against LHs.

Yeah you're right but I wouldn't say James Irvin is a TOP light heavyweight. Maybe in the top 25 and maybe not. If he beat Houston Alexander you wouldn't be mentioning him too would you?
