Kimbo Slice has not drawn Frank Mir to the latest season of "The Ultimate Fighter."
In fact, he'd just as well watch the WEC.
"I don't even know what's going on, I had to turn it off," he said of the UFC's flagship reality show at a WEC Q & A last week. "I'm being serious. It was bad. Some of the fights were horrible."
The former UFC heavyweight champ praised the fights of the lighter weight organization, which, according to Dana White, won't be folded into the UFC anytime soon.
"I haven't seen any fights in the WEC that could ever amount to being that bad, because the lighter guys are just more competitive," Mir continued. "They're in shape, they're more strategic. Even when you go to a college wrestling match, typically, the heavyweights are boring to watch."
The 32-year-old Mir fights Cheick Kongo at UFC 107 on Dec. 12, though he's really jonesing for a rematch with Brock Lesnar.
But when it comes to watching MMA on TV, Mir says he'll stick to the little guys.
"I'm a heavyweight and I'm saying... (the fights are) nowhere near as exciting as the lightweights," he said.

the heavy weight fight Lesnar Mir II was exciting. especially when Brock was punching Mir in the face. ;)
That's Mir for ya - he just doesn't have it in him to be in anyway humble before a fight, or fail to set himself up for failure.
Now, not only does he have to win this fight against Kongo, but he'd better do it in some exciting fashion.
Granted, the fights on TUF haven't exactly been PPV-quality, but they're supposed to be amateurs!
And say what you like about Kimbo, but I think he's now 'overtrained'. His biggest assets in the old days were the ruthless aggression and single-mindedness, two weapons he's been trained into trying to avoid. Sure, it's no strategy for a seasoned vet with all the tools to go in head-down and swinging for the fences. But for Kimbo, it worked, and it could work - why teach an old dog new tricks? Or at least, why force him to try to show those new tricks before he's practiced enough?
Wow, that ran on...
what the hell are you talking about.kimbo slice is a bare knuckle boxer not a street fighter watch any of the youtube fights most important the one with sean gannon the second gannon throws a knee they break it up.hes not going to get any better hes had like what 4 years his cardio sucks andthe ground game is horrible true he can punch hard but he cant kick his way out a wet paper bag and he was training with bas rutten for gods sake people say all he needs is a ground game he never learned but in his first pro fight he took down mercer no prob. oh and for the first guy how those growth hormones treating your boy brocks stomach i prefur the first fight wen brock tapped.
Is Frank Mir trying to be the next Roy Nelson and get on Dana's bad list? Mir needs to worry about Kongo and quit running his mouth!!! The show has been pretty good so far, yeah ive seen better, but why does Mir care? Train and shut up!!! Kongo is not an easy fight.
You guys are retarded. Hes a commentator for the WEC, so after the show he gets asked QUESTIONS for the media. See this happens when you leave the world of the internet. There is this thing called social interaction. Now please get some sun tan lotion, this winter sun might be brutal for you.
And yes, this season of tuf sucked. No way around that.
lmao at the above Anonymous comment - I love it when people on Internet 'chats' or forums comment on others being 'net geeks who never see the outside.
Hey, moron, you posted here too, so don't try to come across as being too cool for school. You're probably 14, sitting in ma's basement, dreaming of seeing your first live booby.
I really don't understand your point, anyway... so Mir's a commentator asked questions - and that means he has to answer like a complete asshole? Gimmie a break. He choses to lace his answers with self-promoting bullshit because he's a douche.
Gabe, not sure I get your comment - aren't we pretty much saying the same thing about Kimbo?
what iam trying to tell you shocked n awed is you could give the guy 5 more years of just ground fighting make sure he gets it all down and hell still lose or just let him use that old aggression from the bare knuckle boxing he'll still lose hes just not good at mma.
You must really be an Idiot frank mir.. You know most of the guys come into the show NOT in shape and you are going to say something like that? How many fights did it look like you were going to pass out from your horrible cardio? Have fun with Kongo.
You know...Mir gets shitted on everytime he makes a comment. And I think some of the fans just want him to stfu even though his comments might be valid.
But I think at least 80% of shit Mir spews is garbage.
1) He has that commentating job for WEC because his UFC contracts are not paying him enough.
2) I found Mir vs Lesnar II really exciting, especially when Mir was against the fence getting pwned by Lesnar, a supposedly an inexperienced fighter.
3) Frank has answers to every question and he tries to sound smart by sounding unbiased and eloquent. But we all know what kind of moron he is.
@ Gabe: Alright, I get your side clearly now. :D
I do disagree - not with your first point, I agree with you there. He could train with GSP for a year, and I don't think he'll pick up that game to the extent he'd need to compete using that game.
But I disagree with the last part, which I guess is just where you disagree with me... except he's proven, if he hits a guy on the button with the right shot, the guy will go down. Tank Abbot was well past his sell-by date when Kimbo knocked him out, but it was still Tank. If he'd gotten to fight Ken Shamrock instead of Seth Petrozuli, he'd have knocked Shamrock out too.
Don't get me wrong, dude, I'm not saying that would have made him a legit MMA fighter. I'm not saying he ever will be. What I'm saying is, by trying to turn Kimbo into a finesse guy, they spoiled his biggest assets. He could knock anyone out with one punch - now he just tries too hard to land it.
true but lets behonest man if you hit anybody on the button there going to sleepy land it dosent take much power man trust me your grandma could hit lesner clean on the knockout line and at the very lest his knees will buckle o and for everyone bashing mir piss off.
that guy has earned his opion whether he beats kongo or not hes still a 2 time champ i dont know many people that could come back from what he has
that being said ilike tuf 10 about half way through you really get the feeling that rampage might just kill someone funny shit the fights though ah
I don't hate the fights of TUF 10...sure they're not the best fights, but it's not like these guys are actually in the UFC...so, no, I don't hate the fights...I just hate Frank Mir
Even though I do think Mir sometimes says some pretty weird stuff I have to agree with him on this one.
WEC is the most exiting organisation in the world right now. Really good technical and highly energetic fighters, almost never a dull match.
And Heavy Weights are sometimes quite boring to watch. There has been some very good Heavy Weight matches (Fedor in the Pride are especially) over the years but generally they are not that exciting.
I mean just watch that José Aldo ^^.

Haha, y'all are to funny bitching at eachother. The fights on Tuf10 do suck the only thing that's worth watching is "RAMPAGE" he is one of the funniest guys ever on on TUF, I'd say coach but he def ain't that. He should forget about "The A-Team" and go into stand up comedy with Rogan. Some of his comments and pranks had me LMAO. Way too funny, if not for him I think Tuf 10 would have the worst ratings of all 10 seasons. Maybe they still do I haven't checked.
P.S. don't get me wrong "RAMPAGE" is da shit.... and WILL KO Rashad after the movie gig.
Ive had an oppurtunity to meet Frank Mir, and he was as nice as he could possibly be. Alot of times people mistaken outspokenness with being a prick and its just not the case. Heres a thought, if you dont want to know the true answers, dont ask the questions, plain and simple. Mir didnt go to some mall and mouth off about TUF, he was doing his commentary job and was asked by a reporter after the show...big deal. Even Dana has said the majority of these fights this season have been boring. Even amateurs can have an exciting fight. I love all these Lesnar fans running their mouth about Mir too, especially the ones about Mir keeping his mouth shut, as if Lesnar does that, the sideshow freak....and last time I checked, they've fought twice, and who won the first bout again? So its split.
mir was born in 1979, how does that make him 32?
Mir is a fucking tool. He's days are numbered. Cheick Kongo will knock him out and from there on there will be nothing left for him to say except talking shit on Fedor (to suck Dana's dick and extend his career with the UFC), begging for a rematch with Lesnar (to revive his career), and glorifying his win against Nog (to say that he is still a top fighter).
I'll bet you Mir is going to get more insecure after losing to Cheick Kongo. He will probably lose few more times after that to Cain/Shane/Dos Santos. He will have a choice of staying with the UFC making $90k per fight or signing with Strikeforce to get paid $400k for letting himself be used as a stepping stone for Fedor.
In any case, Mir is a tool and he will continue to be a tool.
i think mir is a turd and is in denile over the ass smashing Brock gave his big mouth ass. Kongo would give me a personal boner if he fucks up mir. just because he is not a wreslter does not mean he can't put it on someone(mir). that would be christmas coming early with all the shit i wished for ha,ha.
Kimbo is not a young guy, you're talking as if he had the time to train for 5 years and come back to compete. Not everyone is like Mark Coleman or Randy "the natural" Couture. Kimbo is scheduled to fight Houston Alexander on Dec.5 they are both fighters who are primarily dominant in the stand-up aspect of MMA( that being evident in Alexander's loss to Eric Schafer, and Kimbo's history of having basic knowledge of a ground game). So stop talking shit about Kimbo and let him prove himself remember Elite XC gave him too much too soon. He's a really good boxer and all he ask fans for is a chance to prove himself. Let him fucking prove himself.
