A Huge Ratings Draw, Kimbo Given Second Shot at UFC
UFC president Dana White has said that the only way Kimbo Slice would get into the UFC was by winning The Ultimate Fighter reality show. Well, he retracted that just a bit. Kimbo is out of the running to win the series, but will compete against Houston Alexander on The Ultimate Fighter finale on Spike TV on Saturday night.

I'm pretty sure Dana White said "through the Ultimate Fighter" and not "by winning the Ultimate Fighter".
Nope. Dana White said that Slice had to win the whole thing to get any fights in the UFC. But is anyone really suprised? They promoted almost every single episode by implying that Slice would be fighting again in it. The UFC is a business and I am not hating on White at all for trying to make the most money he can, but he proves time and time again that about half of what comes out of his mouth is BS. He has also stated that any fighter who appears in the next EA Sports MMA videogame will never fight in the UFC. Well Fedor is gonna be on the box and do you really think White would not allow fedor to fight in the UFC for that reason?

Dana's a promoter, plain and simple - I bet he hated having to talk-up Roy "Fat Country" Nelson more than he'd hate someone trying to ram six fingers up his asshole, but it's something he had to do once Nelson made the finale.
"He impressed me tonight," said Dana after Nelson's win on the last show. Really, Dana? Despite the fact he showed nothing more than he did against Kimbo.
I love how Nelson tries to put over his wins as 'by crucifix', not bothering to acknowledge that without the three-hundred pounds of swinging gut fat he smothers his opponent with, he would never be able to get a guy in that position.
He's a total douche, and I hope like hell he gets knocked out Saturday. Sadly, though, it's not a result I'd bet on. With any luck, Joe matches him up against Big Nog for his first match, and he gets his fat ass pwned.
People need to stop hatin on Big Country so much. yea, the guy is a fat slob, but he's beating guys in much better shape so you can't really hold it against him. If you've only watched him on the ultimate fighter then yea he seems like quite a douche, seems like he just does what he has to do to win. Remember that it's a TV show tho and they edit it to look however they want as far as his personality goes. If you've watched him fight outside of TUF, you'd see the guy can fight, he held his own against arlovski... not everyone can do that. As For Kimbo... I give the guy some credit for doing TUF when he coulda gone and fought for someone else without all the bullshit. I think that earns him a fight, and a chance to get himself into the UFC. Personally i think he's gonna get KOed, but who knows
I'd like to see Kimbo fight Fedor. Fedor would probably take it but he'd have a tough time with someone as tough as Kimbo who is definitely tougher than anyone Fedor has faced in years.

Obviously they edit for content, and only the stuff that fits the character they want to portray makes air. But they didn't edit the tape to make Nelson say the arrogant-ass things he said, just like it wasn't editing that made Rampage come off sounding stupid - he actually says dumb-ass things!
I've seen a couple of Big Country fights from pre-TUF days, both from the IFL and before. He's just not very impressive, he lacks style and has zero charisma. That's why he's never been in the UFC before. Granted, he displayed skills past simply "Flop and Smother" in those days, but he also looked leaner - not ripped, by any means, but not quite as blubbery.
I'm right with you when it comes to Kimbo, though. Not sure how it's gonna go, and there are a few extra factors - Houston's ring-rust and Kimbo's weight cut for starters. It should be a KO win for Houston, but could easily go the other way too. Good matchup for Kimbo though, not much chance of it going to ground!
I agree with the second guy's comment and Shocked's. I think the only reason Kimbo has been given a chance is because of how big the ratings were for his fight. Tomorrows will be big too whether he gets the shit knocked out of him or not. And if Fedor some how did get out of contract, his first fight would be for the title (even though I'm not a big fan but it would be a huge fight and a huge draw for mma). Back to Kimbo, he needs to impress me to beat Houston even though he sucks. And I am so glad that cocky dumb fucking Brit McSweeney got beat by that retard redneck Nelson. Come on hit me... What a dumb ass!
Houston is going to take Kimbo to the ground. His chin is too weak and if he loses this fight he's back out of the UFC. Thinking that his ground game is a million times better than Kimbo's - even if he has no ground game - On the other hand, Kimbo should have some new found ground skills so he might have the same gameplan. I really don't think these guys are going to just go out there and swing with how much is on the line for both of them. I hope they stand and throw but I don't think that's what's going to happen.
