Sarah Waklee of the California State Athletic Commission released on Monday the official attendance and gate revenue numbers for Strikeforce: Evolution, which took place last Saturday, Dec. 19, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
According to CSAC, 14,749 fans attended the event, which featured a middleweight headliner between Cung Le and Scott Smith. In a last-minute surge, Smith upset Le by TKO.
The event grossed $633,674.50 in live gate revenue. Figures on "comps" and unsold seats were not released.
Strikeforce next heads to Miami on Jan. 30, where Nick Diaz will return to welterweight against feared striker Marius Zaromskis at the BankAtlantic Arena in Sunrise, Fla.

atleast they are sorta making money now but they need to generate extra money some how if they want to survive
They also make money on the actual Showtime broadcast and the sponsors and the advertising. The fact that the gate total pays the fighters is a really good sign.
