Dana White Promises No Cuts Following UFC 108

UFC 108 was a card that took more hits than Tiger Woods' sponsorship deals, but in the end the fighters all came out to perform and put on one of the most enjoyable shows to kick off 2010.

Matchmaker, Joe Silva, burned up a ton of minutes on his cell phone calling fighter after fighter to replace others who were forced off of the card due to injuries, cuts, and other various problems.

A night of exciting finishes brought about the usual fight bonuses, with one of them handed to Paul Daley for knockout of the night. A reporter asked White, who withheld giving a bonus to Anthony Johnson following his knockout of Yoshiyuki Yoshida because he missed weight, why he gave Daley a bonus, who also missed his weight just a day earlier.

"There is no guy on this card that will be penalized tonight," White said. "Nobody's going to be cut tonight, nothing's going to happen to anybody tonight. Everybody's going to make money tonight and leave here happy as hell."

Good news for short notice fighters like Duane "Bang" Ludwig and Dustin Hazelett who helped push the show to the finish line in the final weeks. It looks like there won't be any stories about who is looking for a job post UFC 108.

Even UFC heavyweight, Shane Carwin, sent out a reminder to fans that oh so long ago, he was actually supposed to compete at UFC 108.

"I am supposed to be making weight right now for my fight with Lesnar. What a difference a year makes," Carwin commented via his Twitter page.

"Rashad goes Old School to beat Silva"??? <--MMAWEEKLY nuthuggers do it again. How is fighting like a p*ussy oldschool?

I am again convinced that Rashad is the most boring fighter ever. Thiago Silva sucks too.

UFC 108 is the worst card ever. No wonder all the free streams were not cut off. Anyone who paid for the event is a sucka.

How is fighting smart and sticking to the game plan being pusy? Us fighters go out there and put our lives on the line, give us some respect...

Rashad fought like a bitch... Takedown, get up. Takedown, get up. He didn't inflict any damage or try to advance position. It was a lay and pray victory. I hope Rampage smashes his face.

Rashad has layed claim to some of the most brutal knock outs in UFC History. Shut your mouth.

He did advance his position... he got mount! Thiago just did a really good job of getting back up because he's a black belt in jui jitsu. Rashad is a beast and he'll be the champion again! I thought the fight was awsome. If you were educated in all facets of MMA you would too. This is not boxing, its MMA. That was a very technical display of wrestling.

thiago lost out of stupidy. rashad won by luck and thiago's stupidity. if thiago would have finished him off and not let him recooperate, it would have been over....no decision. and what is with fighters not making weight, winning, and then and getting a bonus. anthony rumble johnson didnt make weight back in september by 6 lbs. yet hes was still excited about his win. isnt that somewhat cheating?

paul daley did it as well last night, in regards to previous post.

Its easy to sit back and say what should have happened. I agree Thiago should have jumped on him when he had him hurt but I think he was too tired, not sure. He went a little overboard with the show boating at the end but Evans definitely took the safe route in this fight. Whats he gonna do against RAMPAGE? Those takedowns wont happen. If RAMPAGE is in shape and I pray he takes this seriously, he will put the whoopin on "SUGAR".

Still at the point where people call it "pussy" to go for takedowns.

A lot of MMA fans dont actually like the sport for what it is apparently.

ROFL @ lame fighters getting butt-hurt by internet comments.

Rashad should not be proud of that victory, and if he thinks he can do that with Rampage I hope he tries.

anybody knocking Rashad victory should give there heads a shake Wrestling is just as much as any other weapon that one must have in being an MMA fighter. Thiago looked like a fool when he started his crap in the 3rd rd.He had no answer for Rashad ways so he figured he would play the crowd trick[getting them to boo it was all his fight if he real wanted it he almost took him out but got mad because Rashad would not trade punches with him

Dear MMA fighters trolling on internet:

Rashad is a p*ussy not for his takedowns. I respect wrestling skills, including takedowns, reversals and judothrows.

In Pride, takedowns were not given big points, unless guard is passed along with takedown. In UFC, it seems like merely taking down an opponent (without doing anything afterwards) wins points. And Rashad, wanting to "play it safe" decided to do this even though he knows that he can't do shit after taking an opponent down.

Rashad CAN'T do shit on the ground.

Rampage would pwn Rashad.

Rashad can't be considered #2 after a lackluster performance like that.

Thiago Silva is well-rounded fighter. However, I wouldn't give him anything more than B+ in every single aspect of his game. He is a slow starter. He's sprawl is not the best. His strking, although effective against cans he fought to build his early career, is not crisp enough to compete at high levels against Lyoto, Shogun, or even Rampage.

I HAVE A QUESTION!

MY FRIEND BOUGHT PPV FOR UFC 108 THE LAST MINUTE AFTER LOOKING AT THE FINAL CARD. HE SAID HE BOUGHT IT BECAUSE THE CARD "LOOKED VERY GOOD."

IS HE A NOOB???

I hate when people down other people but cant fight their way out of Burger King at lunch time. Rampage is cool but he is not the Terminator dawg he lost to Griffen and struggled with Henderson & Jardine both slower and way less athletic then Evans. His take down defense is not gonna be great after getting kicked in the leg & picked at in small exchanges which every one knows is his weakness thus leaving him exposed to the Decision which exist so fighter who are proficient and technical can use those abilities to win fights. In closing I would like to say Go fight someone around your size with about the same strength & skill as you and see if its as easy as you blog S S SUKAS!!!

Evans will win by KO over rampage

quinton jackson is no longer called rampage. he changed it to Coward a long time ago. ducked lyoto quicker than a tsunami, then ducked rashad. his mma career is about as hot as his acting one. he's a dumbass

Quinton NEVER ducked Machida, he was given Jardine when he didn't want him, then was promised the title shot but instead was put into the Ultimate Fighter again to coach when he clearly didn't want to be there.

It amazes me after 25+ fights that anyone would honestly believe Rampage is ducking anyone. Once he dominates Rashad, he'll end the hype train again for Machida once and for all.
