Mark Coleman Talks About Upcoming Fight With Randy Couture
The Godfather of the Ground & Pound, Mark Coleman talks about his upcoming fight versus Randy Couture at UFC 109, says he's been waiting for this fight for a long time.
109 has a good card. the only thing i dont like bout it is the main event. couture vs coleman would be a good co-main event but not the top fight. serra vs trigg would be a good fight just as long as the loser retires (same as coleman/couture). miller vs maia, marquardt vs sonnen, and swick vs thiago are all good main card fights too. i saw joe rogan said the winner of couture/coleman could get a title shot. i like couture but he lost two heavyweight fights in a row and showed an unimpressive win over brandon vera. other words he definitely does not deserve a title shot if he beats mr. magoo. if anything, the winner of rashad evans and rampage jackson should be runner up. thats a battle between two top five ranked fighters. anyways back to coleman/couture, my prediction is first round will be a close one. coleman will use up all his energy by using his strength advantage. second round couture dominates and finishes coleman in the third by ground and pound.
I agree Coleman doesn't have a snowballs chance. The article calls him the Godfather of Ground and Pound. Shouldn't that be Grandfather? He is a legend don't get me wrong but there is a time when you just need to hang up the gloves before something serious happens to you.
UFC 109 is horrible, not one of the fights mean anything in the way of titles or #1 contender status. Like others have said the main event is terrible. Randy may destroy Coleman but it's going to be boring as hell to watch it happen. Nate the Great vs Sonnen...Really? Nate has been murdering fools! I know every card can't be UFC 100 but this card is lackluster. The strikeforce might be more entertaining...I can't believe I just said that, but seriously the freakshow of Hershel Walker and Bobby Lashley might actually be more entertaining.
To the last guy who posted, "not one of the fights mean anything in the way of titles or #1 contender status," actually if Nate Marquardt wins he is getting a title shot of the winner of Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort. I agree with most of what you said. I probably should of put its a decent card. It probably should be $20 or $10 cheaper just cause the main event isn't a main attraction.

Save your money. Coleman-Couture? Matt Serra? Serra isn't even ranked in the top 10, and Hughes was right when he said he wasn't even in the top 20.
