Cro Cop Says He Wants To Fight UFC Pres Dana White

While Cain Velasquez positioned himself near the top of the heavyweight division, Wanderlei Silva answered the call of Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Stephan Bonnar and Michael Bisping each called for rematches of their UFC 110 losses, former heavyweight destroyer Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has a much different take on who he would like to fight next.

His boss. Cro Cop would like to fight his boss, UFC president Dana White.

"It's not about who I want to fight. It's the UFC's decision. I'd like to fight Dana White first," quipped the staunch Croatian at the UFC 110 post-fight press conference.

"It would be easy money for me, but I don't know," he quipped, before adding, "Maybe Ben Rothwell."

Rothwell was his originally scheduled opponent for UFC 110, but had to drop off the card due to illness.

Cro Cop hasn't proven to be the easiest guy for the UFC to deal with. He has consistently avoided PR appearances and interviews in their attempts to build up the legendary fighter's bouts. So maybe Dana White wants to fight him too.

Then again... probably not.

Oh my GOD. You guys are retarded, you guys completely say what Crocop said out of context. He was making a joke. You guys need to go to hell. You publicists are a bunch of scum bags trying to make money out of a bunch of lie.

Bravo to William. Antagonistic journalism is an embarrassment to the public intelligence and the once dignified field of journalism.

The quality of journalism in this sport is getting worse. Is this the only story this ass of a reporter for lack of a better word could come up with after a bunch of high quality fights?? Come on, get your shit together.

Who wrote the article?

Yes who wrote this article? Cro Cop was obviously making a joke as anyone with half a brain watching the press conference could see. Article was a waste of time.

I would pay $1000 to see the fight. The loser leaves town. I would love to see CC beat Dana White until he dies.

CC is the man. He has accomplished so much in his life that he doesn't give a fuck. A former congressman, legend in the sport, still gets paid more than Cain/Mir/Shane even though he is ranked way lower..etc.

Cro Cop should fight Dana White.

they will never look up a word said...

wow just wow
what the hell is wrong with you people this is a side bar articale about cro cop making a JOKE about fighting dana (get this the writer got that it was a joke too)

This is in the MMA Insider Blog, not the regular news section. They aren't trying to slander anyone in this section, the insider blog is meant to be light hearted and for fun. Obviously that's why the section is separate from the main news.

Goes to show you once, just because you can type on a keyboard, it doesn't make you a writer. What a hack . . .

I would say that most of the posters here are WAYYYYY to sensative.

Its all about interperation maybe the writer did not do such a good job making it so light-heated sounding.

However, who they hell are you to judge???? So many journalism majors running around here that think they know the business.

BTW, I do have a journalism degree.

This article was completely neutral in tone. I could tell it was a joke by reading it. That doesn't mean, the author of this article meant it that way. it was well written and didn't lean towards any way. if you know cro cop, you know it was a joke. So chill out. Don't diss authors that post on, "the website of the year! 20009"

I agree, this sort of sensationalistic approach to reporting has become the norm.

It is truly vile.

A big f you to the reporter.
