Dan Hardy Talks About Marcus Davis and Psychological Warfare

The fight between Dan Hardy and Marcus Davis seemed to reach a fever pitch when the two squared off at UFC 99 last year, but the war of words didn't end there.

Prior to the fight, Hardy did everything in his power to rile up the Irishman, and he accomplished his goal. A Photoshop contest amongst fans, and some well placed trash talk, brought Davis to a frenzy before their fight ever happened.

Right after the fight, Hardy admitted that it was all part of a strategy to get into Davis' head and earn a shot at the Maine based fighter. Still even though the fight seemed over, Davis fired back just weeks ago via his Twitter account stating, "I hope Dan Hardy dies of AIDS."

The comment was eventually deleted, but Hardy says that Davis obviously didn't know when enough was enough.

"Some people can't see it for what it is. Obviously with Marcus Davis making a comment like that it obviously proves he can't deal with the situation, and he doesn't get it," Hardy commented recently when appearing on MMAWeekly Radio.

"Apparently the Photoshops that I helped create were completely unacceptable, yet he makes a comment like that (and) it's okay? I don't understand where his logic lies."

Hardy admits that psychological warfare goes a long way, and he's become a master of that particular trade.

"Any time you can use any psychological warfare, it's different for every fighter," Hardy said. "The Marcus Davis fight was a blatant, outright, I'm going to punk him, I'm going to make him look stupid, and you're going to get crazy and lose your mind.

"Mike Swick was a little bit more fun, a little bit more jokey, but when it got to the end of the build up of the fight, he'd been expecting me to say all kinds of stuff that he didn't know really how to deal with it. He didn't know how to prepare himself for what was to come."

Hardy's teammate, Paul Daley, has started a similar campaign for his upcoming UFC 113 fight against Josh Koscheck. Daley encouraged fans to Photoshop a new haircut for Koscheck ahead of their fight, and when Hardy was asked if he would possibly put the best photo on his walkout t-shirt for UFC 113?

"Don’t give him any ideas, you know he will," Hardy responded.

Marcus Davis referred to as a Maine-based Irishman in your article. Are you kidding?

Davis is an American figher, based out of Maine. Please...

Seriously, for those of you that talk shit on how Fedor hasn't faced top competition since Pride, just look at the reality of the other divisions.

The HW and LHW division is by far the strongest right now. Cain, JDS, Brock, Mir, and Shane. Lyoto, Shogun, Rampage, Rashad, Lil Nog, Forrest.

I mean Fedor hasn't faced the new HWs in the UFC but he has faced just as strong competition as GSP or Penn. He has faced stronger competition than A. Silva.

The fact that dudes like Dan Hardy get a title shot, or dude like Kos (no offense) is claiming to be the top contender is just ridiculous.

MW is the worst. Nate loses to Sonnen, who no one has even heard of. And Hendo and Belfort (two LHW rejects) are the top fighters at that class.

Please..I don't want to see another GSP domination of weaker opponents. GSP needs to either move up weight class or vacate the belt. That goes for Silva as well. he doesn't belong in that reject MW division anymore. He did when he sucked but not anymore. He has enough momentum to fight anyone at 205lbs.

MMA is getting OLD!

dude...fuck fedor and fuck you...MMA isn't getting old, only to the bandwagon fan who only pretends to like mma to seem cool...you are a moron...don't worry, fedor will lose once he fights someone worth a shit

you claim to be an MMA fan and you diss Fedor. Right...so you are not a UFC noob bandwagon Dan Hardy fag.

MMA is piece of shit. I can't stand this garbage anymore. It's the same shit over again. They get someone like Hardy, pump him up, give him few cans, and then get him killed by GSP, recycle him and then say how he changed his dietary supplement and training camp, and then sell him out.

Same shit. Anyone who can't see the pattern here should go die.

Once again, Big Puma is looking forward to the challenge.
"Here we go again," Berkman said. "I know it's a long road, and the first part of camp is always exciting, getting to meet some of the new

guys. We've had so much roster turnover, puma shoes men I feel like a new guy. So you have to go in there, get acquainted with the coaching staff and

everybody. But it's exciting."
The 34-year-old switch-hitter finished '09 puma shoes women batting .274 with 25 homers and 80 RBIs while being limited to 136 games. That batting average

was his lowest since playing in 34 games during his first season in 1999, while the homer run total was his lowest since '05 and the RBIs

were the fewest since his official rookie year in 2000

In regard to a previous poster, I respectfully disagree that Dan Henderson is a LHW reject. Losing only one fight at LHW in 4 years and to the champ who has only lost one fight (a highly controversial decision) in 5 years...doesn't make you a reject. Dan Henderson and Rampage are 2 of the most dominant fighters in the world at that weight class and in my humble opinion, the 2 best. As far as Fedor goes...no one has to love him if you don't want to, but please don't get stupid. You can't name a soul (not named Nogueira) in the HW division with a more impressive resume. Please come up with a name and then look at his record and tell yourself why he's proven so much more than Fedor who is still continuing to beat top 10 fighters. The UFC is great and I love it. Any proper fan of mma should, but please don't be fooled by their excellent marketing into thinking that fighters there are automatically better than fighters elsewhere..just for being there. Granted, the majority are. My opinion is Fedor is easily top of the HW's, but that's certainly open for debate and no one is an idiot for thinking otherwise. We don't all have to fight to have an opinion or declare someone else's opinion to be that of a drunked retard with a head injury. Yes...some opinions are that bad, but is your life improved for arguing with said object? Relax. It's a great sport. The UFC does excellent marketing and yes, makes some of their lesser fighters look miles better than they are, but you know what? I like it. Keeps it entertaining. Besides, there's always the possibility of an upset. I like GSP as a fighter but more as a class act. Even so, I can't help but love Hardy. I'd like to see an upset, but...I can think of a million poeple I'd rather see lose than these 2. Adios.
