There's always been a rift between Frank Shamrock and Cesar Gracie's camp. As trainers, the two exchanged words for years that eventually escalated into a bout for Strikeforce in March of 2006 where Shamrock dispatched of Gracie in just 21 seconds.Cesar Gracie trained fighter Nick Diaz exacted revenge on April 11, 2009, TKO'ing the former UFC titleholder in the second round.
In a recent interview with MMAWeekly Radio, Jake Shields, Gracie trained Strikeforce middleweight titleholder, blasted Shamrock.
"Shamrock's a douche bag. He's not worth my time," said Shields. "The guy would never fight me. He's just trying to talk to keep his washed up career going."
Shields didn't stop there. He brought up teammate Diaz's one-sided victory over Shamrock last year.
"We saw what happened when he stepped in against a real fighter, against Nick Diaz. It was obvious he was on a completely different level than Shamrock."

Frank Shamrock has done more to tarnish his alleged 'legendary status' by running his own stupid asswipe mouth than any actual contender (such as Shields or Diaz) could ever hope to. I don't think Shamrock is washed up. No one would fight with a broken rib as he did against Diaz but he had no choice as he was the only headliner for Strikeforce. Most guys in that situation would have pulled out of the fight. I thought the fight with Cung Le was entertaining and had Shamrock tried to take it to the ground he could have subbed LE. I'm not much for the trash talk BS, you have to prove it in the cage. One previous blogger said it best, "fighters fight and Shamrock talks". I was a fuge fan of Frank's back in the late 90's, he was on top of the MMA world, but he chose to walk away in his prime. His overblown ego convinced him that there were "no more challenges left" (his words not mine). Since then the sport has grown and evolved to such level that he will now never attainable for him. You simply cannot, like any other sport, compare fighters of different era's and when he was Champ it was most certainly a different one. He is well past his prime and sat on the sidelines for far too long. The game simply passed him by. Diaz who is a true welterweight beat the crap out of Shamrock who walks around over 190. WTF is up with that? I was exactly a bit embarrassed for the guy. Diaz called him out and then beat that ass. That was a retirement fight in my opinion. In the end though, Shamrock will keep running his mouth about how great he is and the young guns will keep proving how much better they are.
