Post-Fight Melee Ensues At End of Strikeforce Nashville on CBS
Impressive performances by King Mo Lawal, Gilbert Melendez, and Jake Shields were overshadowed at Saturday night's Strikeforce Nashville event when a post-fight melee ensued following Shields' victory over Dan Henderson.

Imagine that the Diaz brothers throwing cheap shots at Miller while he's on all fours ... these two fuckin' punks should be suspended and fined by the commission. They are a black eye on the sport IMO, everytime they open their mouths something idiotic and unintelligable comes out. Granted Miller is a punk also and should never have been allowed to interupt the post-fight interview like that, but Shields totally over-reacted and what's up with little Melendez getting involved? Not very classy for a couple of "champions" ... and where's the security at? Strikefarce just opened the flood gates for bad PR, good job guys, just gave the critics fodder to run their smack against MMA ... the whole production of the show is second rate(what the fuck is with the go-go dancers? ridiculous), which is unfortunate because they do have some talented fighters, if not very intelligent ones.
i just wanna say this is a prime example of how classy some fighters out there are. Most mma fighters are nice guys and set a good example to be role models and people to llok up too. nick/nate diaz are two fighters thhat i cannot stand watching/ they should be punished for their actions.........melendez, i never really liked, should also be accted for. Shields and mayhem not to much/].
People need to grow up. We pay to watch men beat themselves silly, love it when someone almost get choked to death, arm ripped off, kicked to the point he falls like he is dead,see blood dripping. We are not watching a sport of flower pickers, basket makers. You see people brawling and now its oh my god its soo awful. I loved it. Just like when there is a brawl in baseball, hockey and other sports. How many brawls happened in the mike tyson era and everyone loved to see what crazy shit would happen next. People paid to see the wildness. One brawl after a fight match--get over it. Count the brawls in hockey, baseball, boxing etc then shut up.
Dana White couldn't have scripted this Strikeforce event better. The King Mo fight was a lay and pray fest. All 3 of these fights were boring. Even though Hendo still has a cannon in his right hand, he was slow. He looked like the dinosaur he is. Dana was right to let him go. And then Strikeforce can't provide enough security to stop a brawl from happening. Strikefarce!!!
The melee does not hurt Strikeforce ratings. People who tuned in to watch were already seeking violence. The melee, more likely, made them more interested in MMA.

Shields isnt too impressive.. hes a gsp but not near as good... 4 rounds of "ground and pound" and take a look at hendo.. i bet hes more roughed up in training!! all shields did was negate his striking and pointed a victory.. never was hendo in any real trouble.. if shields sub'ed him id be more impressed... shields wouldnt be too succesful in ufc... give em koscheck or fitch see how he does. Im not a hueg dana fan but he isthe man in MMA anyone saying otherwise is a uneducated moron look at ufc 1 and compare to now.. cards all over theworld selling out all over the world.. whatother promo has done that??? exactly.. the strikeforce card was decent but its not close ufc.. yeah the silva/maia fight was garbage but that a whole other story

To let you know, Nate is still in UFC. Nick is the Strikeforce Welterweight champ. I'm a little pissed cause I set my DVR for only a half hour extension so it cut off a minute and a half in the fifth. Strikeforce has fighters such as Mayhem and Nick Diaz who are just a joke to the sport. I hope Mayhem got his face beat in. I agree that this brawl was classless but its gonna bring in ticket sales and was mildly entertaining. I do hope Shields leaves Strikeforce now his contract is up. Hendo looked good in the first and then looked like crap the rest of the time. King Mo winning the title shows that Mousasi is just hype. Strikeforce has nothing but paper champs. Not a single champ is worth spit besides Shields. And I'm not that a big Shields fan. He's good but just a boring fighter to watch, a lot like GSP now a days. I was pretty surprised to see Aoki get dominated all five rounds. Wasn't a great fight card but it was free so you can't bitch.

It's a combat sport for christ's sake, it was bound to happen and frankly I'm a bit surprised it doesn't happen more often. I don't think it really hurts the sport's rep, MMA is a niche sport anyway. Haters will always hate, there is not much you can do about it. Having said that, some form of decipline be it fine, suspension or both would seem mandatory for all of those involved, namely the Diaz Bros. Any sane person would agree.
