John McCain can win... if Joe Stevenson has anything to say about it.

It's Election Day and voters are pulling levers, punching chads, and clicking electronic ballots in a frenzy to determine the next president of the United States of America. A record number of voters are expected to turn out at the polls for one of the most highly charged elections in U.S. history.

Despite his upcoming opponent, Kenny Florian, saying he doesn't plan on voting in this election, Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight contender Joe Stevenson told MMAWeekly Radio on Monday night that - like former welterweight champ Matt Hughes - he endorses Republican candidate John McCain.

Asked if he was casting a vote, Stevenson said, "I am, definitely... You're not allowed to complain unless you voted."

The 26-year-old fighter went on record saying, "I'm actually, I'm supporting McCain. That's where I stand if anyone is wondering that.

"That's the cool thing about the country, we do get to vote," Stevenson continued.

"I live in California now, so I think the biggest mistake is a lot of people are counting him out in the state. They're just going to just assume that McCain can't win in California. But I think if everyone gets up and votes, he can."

Nice spelling and grammar! Make sure you learn basic English before you call someone stupid, Stupid.

McCain was against MMA when it WAS human cockfighting. Now that it is regulated, he is all for it. Do your research before you spew ignorance.

Well I now hope Kenny Florian beats you down and I don't like Florian either. Next time keep your opinion to yourself unless asked because I sure didn't care. I live in a contaversial state in a county full of fucking rednecks Mercer conty to be exact and I hope Obama wins.

so what it is human cockfighting until althetic commissions get involved? guess what many today who do not understand the sport still call it cockfighting so just because it is regulated now does not change the way make people view the sport! where are you from Mars? It is not regulated in the UK and why the UFC has to drug test people!! ?In fact as govenor of Arizona, he caused one show in the mid 1990s to find a new venue the night before the show!
I guess you are a McCain supporter and these comments really hit home on a day the republicans will see the power drop from their hands when McCain loses the election!! To bad, so sad you loser!!

We all know the Hughes is a redneck hick but did not thing Joe Daddy was one too! Anyways want Florian to win because i think he deserves a title shot more than Stevenson who just had his ass handed to him by BJ almost a year ago! BJ for Govenor or hey maybe President!!

He was once against "Human cockfighting" (don't really believe that he really considers it a significant sport now despite what ever he may say) but is all for bombing Iran?? Violent or Not?

So what it is regulated, it is still the same thing pretty much without the kicks to the dick that had to kill coming from Hackney in the 1990s?

"I think McCain can win California if everybody just gets up and votes".

California is one of the most Liberal states in the nation (if not the most), and anybody who is not voting would most likely go with Obama. This guy should stick to MMA and avoid looking like an idiot in the political forum.

McCain hated was MMA used to be. I wouldn't really call early UFC's MMA. He gave it the go ahead after it became regulated.

Do you idiots not see what Bush has done to our Country, Economy, and international reputation? Do you really want to vote in another Redneck Middle America twit? McCain has a good chance of kicking the bucket in the next few years and then we will be left with Palin!!! I just lost all respect for Joe Stevenson. Him and McCain can eat my shit with the rest of the Middle America human waste!

Its funny how when any celeb yells obama its hunky dorey but once one speaks out against how u feel its a problem. So i geuss if you Obama supporters had your way you would just make Obama the King the dictator so anybody who speaks against your views will be silenced. This is America douche tards be glad you are able to say anything about your government because a lot of countries can't let alone decide who reps it.

Give me a break!! First off, McCain's attitude towards MMA was about his love for boxing. Instead of McCain saying that he is against MMA because he believed it would ecliple boxing. Secondly, who is McCain to try to force is opinion on the rest of the country? I believe McCain is a judgmental hypocrite. Hey, that is what makes this county great. We all can have an opinion.

well joe should retire with mccain after florian motherfucks him and then he can go right into mccain's triangle choke.

Why do you want me to go to hell?

i voted for NADER, he is the only one who cares about poor people in America and about ending the war.

Kenny Florian isn't voting; pretty shocking stuff. I will definitely be rooting for him to choke kenny out. I am glad some mixed martial artists can appreciate what McCain did for the sport. And also that some of them aren't buying in to the garbage coming out Barack Hussein Obama's mouth

Actually McCain said that he saw early footage of MMA and when he saw recent footage of the use of gloves and rules against harmful moves to the fighters he changed his mind.

If you supported John McCain: we tried, it was a long battle. Get ready for tax increases and the policies to swing as far left as they have ever been.

If you voted for Obama: I understand you wanted a change in leadership, but an inexperienced 2 year senator isnt and wasnt the answer. And if you were a professed Christian and voted for him I truely question your faith.

California results:
Obama 6,219,123 (61%)
McCain 3,777,314 (37%)
Stevenson 0

A write-in candidate named "Donkey Punch Johnson" has a better chance of winning in California than a Republican presidential candidate.
