Shamrock to Shamrock: Get Over Your Problems

Adoptees Frank and Ken Shamrock haven't much got along since younger Frank stepped out from the elder Ken's shadow.

As Ken's career has entered its sub-twilight phase, Frank has gotten more and more vocal about a possible fight between the two. And according to a conference call announcing his next bout against Nick Diaz on Apr. 11, he still hasn't given up the idea.

"It's a fight I've always wanted to do," he said. "I think it's an exceptionally compelling story. Ken's going through some personal and emotional problems right now, so we're letting him do that. But this fight is something very personal for me, and I think it's very important that we tell the story of the sport and the Shamrock family what type of influence that family had on the sport. But right now, we're putting it on the backburner."

Indeed, with Frank booked for Apr. 11 with assurances to fight Cung Le if he wins against Diaz, the fight could stay on the backburner for a while. Not to mention, Ken is scheduled for a return on Friday in a co-promotion between his company and Wargods in Fresno, Calif. The 45 year-old is set to face the nearly 400lb. fighter Ross Clifton.

Ken's emotional problems may also take the backburner when he's trying to wrestle 400lbs. to the canvas on Friday.

Headline seemed inappropriate to Frank's tone.

Fight is such a joke. Shammy will clinch for around a minute or so, will should be plently of time to gas to fat slob(since most of his fight last under a minute, he lost 5 of his past 6 ALL in under a minute).

Then Ken will probably simply band Ross' arm and he will cry unlce.

This fight is about the equivalent and some scumbag(Shammy) fighting an overweight girl that probably doesnt even know what a submission is, or even how to even apply a basic one. And also a girl that will quit after a minute because he is gassed and can no longer breath, and/or stand up any longer.

Way to go hall of famer!!! This win should gain you less respect than paying off a fighter to lose.

I can see a "nobody" fighting another fat, out of shape, gasses in under a minute, with the same pothetic skill set. But for a "legend" to do this. This is the saddest example of someone DESPERATELY needing to add a win to his record.

DISPICTABLE!!! and that would be stating it as a compliment.

Shammy could of at least fought a "legend" of the sport that was in his 50's or someone that is NOT so MISMATCHED and screams set-up fight.

What little respect I had for the "most dangerous can" went from nearly nil to embarrassed to acklowledge him as a pioneer and hall of famer in the sport

I really hope that fight happens eventually (brother vs. brother). It would have been a hell of alot better 10 years ago but frank is right, its one of those fights that has a compelling story, one of those fights that'll just be fun to get caught up in. even tho frank would destroy ken at this point.

I'd love to see it. Both men have given a lot to the sport and are good competitiors. I wish people would quit ragging on them.

Jesus, who was the idiot that went on and on about Shamrock and his creditability? Memo to 'ya buddy buy a dictionary moron! You type like Tito Ortiz speaks! I agree with the last person's entry, leave the Shamrock's alone already, for without them and the Gracie's we would more than likely never had have the opportunity to even debate such matters. Show some respect A-Hole!
