There will be no "March Badness" for Ken Shamrock.The 45 year-old UFC Hall of Famer tested positive for three different types of steroids on Wednesday, drawing a yearlong suspension from the California State Athletic Commission and a $2500 fine.
Shamrock was scheduled to fight former WWE star Bobby Lashley on March 21 in Pensacola, Fla., on the Roy Jones Jr. boxing/MMA hybrid "March Badness."
But according to Alexis Antonacci, press secretary for the Florida State Boxing Commission, which oversees Jones Jr.'s event, Shamrock will not be licensed to fight.
"We will honor the suspension," Antonacci said of CSAC's decision. "We honor all states suspensions."
No word has been given yet on whether Shamrock will fight CSAC's suspension, though Shamrock's lawyer, Rod Donohoo, blamed the positive test on over the counter supplements, speaking to Sherdog.com.

Finally he fails a drug test. His ex-brother called him out years ago for illegal steroid use. Maybe he will leave the cage for good instead of losing gimmick fights.
It pains me to say, because back in the day this dude was my favorite fighter (until some guy named Couture came along), but his best years are so far behind him now that I can't see why he didn't just step away while on top. The athlete who can't get on with the rest of his life with dignity in tact is a sad commentary on the legacy which they worked so hard to pave. All "mistake" or "misunderstanding" excuses (that will surely follow) aside, I would fall short in calling him a farce, but more and more you start believe the statements made by his two biggest adversaries (Frank and Tito), that the man himself is simply not what he wants us all to believe he is. Please retire for good now Ken and leave some sense of honor attached to your name.
