HDNet Saying Goodbye to Time Warner

It appears that, although network officials have yet to confirm the situation, HDNet will no longer be available to Time Warner subscribers.

In May, Multichannel News, an outlet targeted at industry professionals in the cabe-television business, reported that Time Warner would drop HDNet after May 31. Time Warner Cable director of corporate public relations Robyn Watson told Multichannel News, "There's a limited appeal for the programming. In a world with more than 100 HD channels, being in HD is not enough. We are adding other channels in HD to give our customers more choice."

HDNet Fights president Andrew Simon recently told MMAInsider that they were still trying to work things out with Time Warner, but on Monday, HDNet posted a link on its official Twitter account pointing to a page that directs Time Warner subscribers who still want HDNet to other services that still carry the network.

While the network carries a wide range of programming, HDNet has carved a bit of a niche in the MMA market with deals to carry various fight promotions and its own weekly MMA news program Inside MMA.

As a long time customer of crime warners monopoly, I am glad they have finally forced me to switch providers. I have been a fan of MMA for 15 years and I refuse to miss the events offered by HDNET!

Time Warner didn't drop HDNet Movies, HDNet did. It was removed from their transmission stream.
