Who Ya Got? Fedor or Barnett?
Inside MMA recently did a segment where they asked several fighters who they feel will win at Affliction "Trilogy": Fedor Emelianenko or Josh Barnett.
If Fedor gets past Barnett, he has essentially cleaned out the rest of the world beyond the UFC (for all intents and purposes Barnett is the last legit threat not in the UFC). In order to truly be considered the best ever, I think he must sign w/UFC, if for no more than a one fight deal and compete against the winner of Mir/Lesnar and crown a true HV.WT. Champ. I think even in some small sense an argument could be made that if he never comes over to the UFC, critics could point to that fact and say that as a body of work he was only a ring fighter and I do believe it is much more difficult to rule in a cage with such supremacy (JMO). How awesome would it be if Dana could seal that deal and put it on as the main event for the end of the extravaganza show! That's all I want for X-Mas!!! If I not mistaken, Fedor only signed a three-fight deal with Affliction. Make it happen Dana!!!
I'm not bothered either way who wins, provided it's the pedigree of fight I'd hope to see out of two of the world's top heavyweights. But Anonymous, give your head a shake - it does Dana and the UFC no favours to bring in Fedor now, period. Who else, viewer-wise, does Fedor bring that won't watch the UFC PPV's in North America right now? Enough to justify the kind of salary he'd command? Doubtful. And if he does what many would expect, and tear through all three fights in a 3-fight deal, what does that prove to UFC fans? They've been watching inferior fighters all this time? With Fedor's penchant for fighting in Japan, he's not going to want to sign a long-term, four-year deal, which would be the only circumstances I see the UFC bringing him in under. And even that at this stage of his career wouldn't be the safest investment. The only chance to see these Superfights between Fedor and UFC champs will be other organizations, once free agency's kicked in.
Fedor will never fight in the UFC.His management would let it happin. Thats why his in not in the UFC now. They have some of the crazest demands I have ever heard.Fedor's management wants to keep him fighting 3rd and 4th rate fighters to keep him undefeated.All about the money. Arlovski and Syliva were a joke. Barnett is going to be Fedors biggest test in years. Frank Mir vs Fedor is something I would like to see but I think it will never happin and its sucks.
how far is your'e head buried in your a**? pretty far to say something that makes no sense. since when does someone who is a)considered the best in his weight class basically ever since becoming champion in 2003- not like a silva who has only been champ for 2 piddly years and b)only lost once and has 25+ conseecutive wins, why does aguy like that have to prove shit in the ufc?!! if anything it's the other way around. oh and because some say he hasn't faced the best in a year or two's time that can somehow make him beneath anderson silva or even gsp in p4p ratings is laughable. to be the man you have to beat the man, baby!!! fedor hasn't been beaten in over six years and andrei and tim didn't suck yuntil fedor annihlated them lol. guarantee the same will happen with barnett-'well he is no good after fedor kicked his ass in two minutes' lol.
Fedor's gonna own the center of the ring, barnett will move in, get hit, go to the ground and get pounded in the face till the ref calls it. end of story.
I like fedor and have watched him for years but it stupid fans like you thats make me hate him. why don't you STFU and let the adults fan talks. There is a lot of truth to what has been said Arlouski and Sylvia are 3rd and 4th rate fighter UFC rejects. Come on bro Barnett is his biggest test in aleast 3 years if not longer. All the fans want is Fedor to fight the best of the best not has beens.The best of the best is in the UFC like it or not. If you are the best you should want to fight the best. Stop being a jackass and getting so pissed because some said something bad about Fedor.Go read the blog the guy posted and and learn something
fedor is a good fighter but until he fights creadable fighters he will be ranked 3rd in the p4p rankings. every guy he fights is old and past his prime. theres a reason why aroliski and tim silva are not fighting in the ufc anymore because there washed up just like josh barnett, so even if he beats barnett which he will it wont mean anything for him. just another old washed up fighter that he beat again.

Barnett is hardly washed up, he's the worlds #2 ranked Heavyweight, that being AHEAD of Mir and Lesnar
