Top Spots on the Rumor Mill

There are several rumored bouts that have yet to make it to confirmed status, so we thought we'd give you a quick rundown on some of the more prominent bouts that are being talked about.

B.J. Penn vs. Diego Sanchez:
Seeing as Penn is the UFC lightweight champ, this one tops the list. It is definitely the bout that the UFC wants to put together and that both fighters want, but it always comes down to business. There is definitely a chance of this bout hitting confirmed status soon, but word on the street is that there are still some details to be ironed out and that no bout agreements have gone out, but don't be surprised to see this one top the card at UFC 105 when the UFC returns to Manchester, England.

Michael Bisping vs. Denis Kang:
This one is all but a done deal. Bisping is always on the wish list when the UFC heads to England and UFC 105 is no different. Given that this bout makes sense at this point in each fighter's career, expect it to happen. It hasn't been signed off yet, but it should be in the coming days.

Jake Shields vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller:
This one also makes sense. Strikeforce has been hunting for a solid opponent for Jake Shields to face for an interim middleweight title while champion Cung Le is off making movies instead of fighting. And given Strikeforce and Dream recently making their working relationship "official," Dream lending Miller to Strikeforce for an interim title bout makes sense. A little less of a sure bet than the first two, but don't be surprised if and when this becomes official.

Most fight rumors in the MMA world have some basis in fact. But they usually leak out before any contracts have been signed. And any promoter will tell you, it ain't a done deal until there's ink on the paper. That's the case with all the above mentioned fights.

Down to the wire, plans can and often do change. So while there's a strong likelihood on all of these coming to fruition, don't take 'em to the bank just yet.

Bisbing vs. Kang-Bisbing better win...Kang's victory would be an upset. If Bisbing loses, Strikeforce could be his next stop.
Sanchez vs. Penn-Sanchez is going to get out boxed and grappled. Sorry Diego...I'm still a fan.
Why isn't Cain Valesquez fighting Shane Cantwell? That would be a great set up for Lessnar.

who is shane cantwell?
How does Sanchez get a title shot so quick?
I hope he wins if he gets the shot, but he should have to beat a top 5 155er no?
Bisping only lost one fight in 18, he is a huge draw for the UFC.
I couldn't disagree with you more Daniel!!

185 ... not *18

BROCK draws fans
fans = $$$
The UFC is a business
Shane Carwin is the only guy who stands a chance at this point. Albeit not much of a chance.
Steve Cantwell is the other guy mentioned for whatever reason Daniel. You smoke dope??

HOPEFULLY B.J. PENN is assassinated before he can fight again. His mom too, stupid bitch!!
I think he is such a loser! Go to burger king and eat butt-hole sandwiches Blow Job Penn

Bisping is overrated. The guy's record is only decent because he's been sucking on the UFC milk teet by fighting crappy fighters. His only real challenge prior to Hendo was a conspired decision victory against Hamil, who clearly won that fight. Kang is another juiced up former PRIDE offering that the UFC is offering Bisping to restart another winning streak of chumps. I'm not interested in Bisping-Kang. I'd rather see a Bisping vs. loser of Maia-Marquart.

Did he not also fight Rashad Evans?

Bisping is once again going to get his ass kicked in my opinion. He proved he is timid on his feat against both Hendo and Leben by riding his bicycle all night long. Where does he have the advantage on Kang who also has a big right hand????

Did the homo who signed in as Anonymous giggle when he called BJ "Blow Job Penn"? Wow nice use of your first naughty word, dont let your mom find out you 40year old basement dwelling faggot. Get back to guitar hero and leave this to the adults. BJ will smash Diego!!!!

Well back to the topic....

Go read my post under "Randy training hard for Minotauro" and see if you agree with my logic on why Cain and Carwin didn't end up fighting. Please tell me why I am wrong.

Hazelett vs Parysian is also going to be a great scrap. Dont like Karo but he does bring it every time. Hazelett is quickly becoming one of my favorites, rubber guard extroidinare.

JohnnyZ Bum Jam Penn is a little cry baby who got SMASHED by GSP and Matt Hughes when he thought he could fight in the 185 weight class... ha ha ha. If he ends up fighting GSP again, GSP will break his skull and no ref will be able to stop it. As for you bitch, you don't know who you are talking at! I don't care who you think you are or who you think Bitch Jock Penn is... I would send you running faster than Forrest, I am entitled to my opinion. You are garbage. Suck my dick bitch.

Speaking of moms... BJ Penn got his mom to take the stand in his defense after GSP whopped his ass!
How shameful! What a little bitch. I bet he cried for days after that embarassment! Who anyone is still a fan is beyond me. Must be a lot of fags in the UFC's fan base. Blow Job Penn is a loser. I agree with annonymus JohnnyZ, the faggot is you.

Homo who is to homo to sign in with his real name so I adress him as homo. Last I checked BJ was a world champ of 155 LBers. He didn't lose at 185, he lost at 170. You wouldn't make me run like Forrest because we do this over the internet. Point being is your to homo to leave a name even here. If you did leave a name I could look for you and correct your limited knowledge of MMA. GSP did own BJ the second time around. Contreversially even beat him the first time. Matt Hughes was destroyed by BJ the first time and had to wait until later rounds to even be competitive, and ultimately defeat him the second time. Point being is BJ held the belt at 170 also. Did you know BJ also fought Machida when Lyoto was a HW. This went to a decision loss for BJ. He also beat Gomi when everyone was calling Gomi #1 at LW.

You said you would have me running?!?! Where do you train nameless homo known as "Anonymous"? Lets create a name for a nameless homo who pretends to have knowledge on MMA.(stands for mixed martial arts HOMO) HMMMMMM........ fictional shoguns normally like pretend TV warriors...... HOMO we will now call you "Asshopper".

JohnnyZ now that was fucking funny. The pimp hand is strong in this one, keep up the good work but next time you might want to use a little power so the bitch don't cry to much.

Mayhem vs Shields....I think this is a scrap that we can all agree will be worth the price of admission. I am a UFC backer but above all I am a fight fan. UFC comes first because they have the largest stable of fighters and create the best match-ups. 16 years watching them and I have also developed some loyalty.

Rogers vs Fedor....if Rogers wins where does Strikeforce go from there? If Fedor wins who's next? This is why the UFC bashers of the world will always get a debate out of me. I would much rather see Fedor prove he is still great against proven opponents, I say this to take nothing away from Rogers, but he has only fought one name opponent who is on the decline. Werdum and Overeem just dont intrigue me like potential UFC match-ups would.(i.e. Brock,Cain,Carwin,Randy or even the winner of Mir vs Kongo) At least now we get to see how Fedor will do in a cage. I do like how Strikeforce chose a stand-up fighter for Fedor in his first fight, sounds like a little bit of preserving your investment to me.

I dont defend BJ outside of the cage, I just dont see how people dont recognize his brilliance in it. He is a natural 155LBer, so if he loses to a champion at 170, wasn't he supposed to? He did hold the strap there and that was against THE BEST 170LBer at the time. No one at 170 can beat GSP and in their first fight BJ lost a paper thin decision. Who else has ever bloodied GSP up like that. The second time GSP destroyed Penn. I just dont understand why bringing your mom to a legitimate hearing in which you were not the only fighter to question GSPs use of greasing makes Penn anything less than what I have said before: a great MMA champion????

I leave my name when I talk shit....now I want one of you two sentence, unfactual, UFC bashers to beat me on this board. Just leave a name, that is if you feel you can back up your jibberish.

This is the same JohnnyZ, just a different name and account. Now bring it ladies.

Hey I can't stop you from loving BJ Penn. A fag is as a fag does. You want to suck BJ off I am sure he would oblige. Matt Hughes pinned BJ down and smashed his face ... I just wish the ref never stopped it. I was very pleased to see BJ squirm like a bitch. As for the first GSP - Penn match BJ used his patented EYE POKE to bloody up GSP and it wasn't even much blood. BJ used this eye poke technique against Hughes and Florian as well, he is known for that particular tactic. Yet he cries to the courts about GSP's greasing. What a bitch. Who would win BJ or Lyoto? Enough said. We are all homosapiens. You are and ass licker Johnnyz. So fuck you. I don't care who you are or where you train, How much you know about mma, who your mom is or how much money you make. I don't care how many asses you've licked or how fat you are. I will kick your fucking ass.
