Ultimate Fight Night 17 Moves To Florida

MMAWeekly.com has learned that the as-of-yet unannounced Ultimate Fight Night 17, scheduled for February 7 at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, has been moved across the country to Florida.

The USF Sun Dome in Tampa will now host the event, its first for the promotional juggernaut.

The move was confirmed on Sunday by a source within the camp of one of the card's participants.

Currently, the card is set to feature the following bouts, though none have been officially confirmed by the UFC.

Mac Danzig vs. Josh Neer
Hermes Franca vs. Joe Lauzon
Amir Sadollah vs. Nick Catone
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Rob Emerson

The event will be the UFC's fourth trip to the Sunshine State since beginning the Ultimate Fight Night series in August of 2005.

A couple things. First, the UFC should've been in Tampa for a PPV at the St. Pete Times Forum. They'd break 20,000 easily. Second, Feb 7th is Gasparilla. That'll be tough to pull in fans after they've been drinking outside since breakfast time.
