Since the announcement of Dennis "Superman" Hallman's return to the UFC, fan speculation has immediately pointed to a third meeting between Hallman and Matt Hughes.
In their early careers, Hallman defeated Hughes twice, first at an Extreme Challenge show in 1998 and then at UFC 29 in 2000. The victories took a combined 38 seconds.
Until UFC 79 in December 2007, Hallman was the only man to hold two victories over Hughes, though he remains the fastest man to do so.
MMAInsider caught up with Hallman Wednesday afternoon to get the skinny.
MMAInsider: So you recently signed a new deal with the UFC. The world wants to know: is this a harbinger of Hallman/Hughes 3?
Hallman: I don't think it's a harbinger. I think it's a big possibility, if the fans want to see it. I'm not turning down any fights, so if they offer it, there it is.
MMAInsider: Is it something you'd like to do? How likely do you think it is to happen?
Hallman: It's something the fans have been asking for, and I'm sure deep down in Hughes' little heart, it's something he wants, so it's something I'm not going to turn down. I don't have anything to prove there, but I'm not going to turn it down. In my opinion, I would probably expect it. No one's said anything to me, that's not the reason why it was signed, but those are options. I'm sure if enough people ask for the fight, then usually Dana and those guys listen to the Underground says, so I'm assuming it's going to happen.
MMAInsider: How do you feel it would be the same or different than the other two times.
Hallman: I'm sure Hughes is probably going to run for the first thirty seconds at least, and it will be different after that because it will be longer than thirty seconds.
MMAInsider: So if Hughes makes it out of the first 30 seconds, we're good to go.
Hallman: Yep. It will be a good war. Those fights were eight years ago. It's completely different for both of us. The guy's a smarter fighter now, and so am I, so it would be a different kind of war.

I seen & loved the 1st 2 fights/warm ups lol b/c Hallman finished Hughes the same way twice. If u remember the trash talk between Hughes & Trigg #2, Hughes was making fun of Trigg b/c Hughes made Trigg tapout from a rear naked choke in their 1st fight, hence the reason Hughes was making fun of Trigg.
During their re-match Trigg had Hughes beat & the forke was all but completely in Hughes (by a rear naked choke.... how Ironic) but then out of no where... Hughes gets out (face as red as a tomatoe) picks Trigg up & brings Trigg 2 his corner & like a min later Hughes gets Trigg in a rear naked choke AGAIN & Trigg taps out AGAIN. (4 the 2nd straight time & by the same submission.)
(from Trigg making Hughes look like a complete ass clown by submitting him the same way Hughes did 2 Trigg in their 1st fight, but even better by means of which Hughes was making fun of Trigg 4 the way he lost 2 Hughes in their 1st fight by "rare naked choke".
BUT somehow TRIGG blew it & lost in shame/embaressment/shock/mind blowing/disbelief/historic incompetence.
*** The joke is Trigg hit Hughes below the belt/in the NUTZ which the ref did not C, which is also the reason Y Trigg should had won that fight. It was the "strike" below the belt that got Hughes badly hurt, he then took some bombs from Trigg & thats when Trigg got his back & somehow (which 2 this day STILL baffles me) somehow Trigg still couldnt finish him, he had the rear naked choke locked-in.
Hughes face was so red it was just a matter of time when will Hughes tap or go ZZZzzzZZZ & not "does he have a chance 2 get out", b/c the answer was..... 0 (2 everyone who was watching had no doubt, it was NONE) but we all know now the answer of Hughes getting out wasnt 0, it was .001 & thats being genrous. WOW
P.S Hughes will win the 3rd fight VS Hallman, as much as I would love 2 C Hughes lose & retire a jackass!!!
To kRiS-tYaHn: When I first started reading your post, I thought, here is someone that maybe graduated 8th grade but has actually watched some MMA. But as I read on, it dawned on me that 3rd grade was probably as far as you made it. And Im assuming that you have a sibling/boyfriend/girlfriend that has watched MMA and you have just overheard some of their postfight ramblings about various fighters. Hughes made fun of Trigg in reference to the "rare" choke after the first fight because (A)Trigg is a douchebag (B) Trigg had basically said he was going to kill Matt. And then Hughes chocked him again, after nearly being beaten, so he still makes fun of Trigg today for the same reasons. As far as another Hughes/Hallman fight goes, there's no telling what might happen. Hell, Hallman may get that third win. His record against Hughes will be his only claim to fame anyway...
