Great move to show one of the most talked about fight cards this year. With all the media coverage, I'm sure most people would rather see my boy Brock as opposed to Corano. Also, I thought it was interesting that they aren't showing the gsp fight, but i understand that it might not be as fun to watch for the casual fan who may just want to see quick action. Well played UFC. Well played.

Miss a live event to watch an over hyped card that ive seen 100 times.
your ****ing crazy

you have seen that card 100 times? Maybe you should not download the fights and actually pay to watch them.

lol. it's so over hyped but this guy has watched it 100 times. Did you complain the whole time you watched it. Awesome idea but come on, take one of these other fights off and show the St. Pierre and Alves fight. Gotta show the co main event. 5 rounds, oh well...
take a couple fights off for all anyone cares. Show the big 3

the same ppl that said anderson was over rated after his past 2 fight are probley the same idoits sayin gsp can finish guys. Bs Ufc is dominating mma, strikeforce will get some viewers but not as many as the Ufc 100 re-air.....alot of ppl cant order ppv so y not watch it for free. I will be watchin Corano only cuz she is so hot and can whoop azz.

miss some great fights like mousasi vs sobral for a school yard bully main event, not likely. especially without the gsp fight. should reconsider showing the co main event and mayybe i'd consider watching it over strikeforce.

Probably better to watch the strikeforce card if you can. It'd be way more worth it if Nick Diaz was on it. And Carano has like 50% chance of getting knocked out. Melendez-Ishida has a chance to be pretty good though. And if you watch mma for the main events your crazy. Might as well be a boxing fan. As for GSP he doesn't finish against top guys. Like it or not he such a bigger guy then everyone else he can afford to go Mark Coleman 101 one everyone. And he does it because of Serra. He's kind of afraid to stand with anyone early. However, the Henderson knockout is worth it. Thats what happens when you overhyped a guy like Bisping who really got a lot of questionable decisions to go his way. He was bound to get flattened by a top tier fighter. Anderson wasn't overrated the past couple of fights. Those guys didn't want to fight him. Takes two to tango.

Rumor has it that Dana White's excuse is that "Strikeforce had a press conference at the same time as a UFC press conference, they counter us first..."

LMAO! Definitely watching strikeforce over any rerun.

Really? I guess there's always room for a minority opinion - I'll be amazed if Strikeforce comes anywhere near the viewership of the re-run. Christ, I'd be surprised if Strikeforce without Fedor on the card squares up to the numbers put up by any of the other pro sports televised at the same time. I'll look for Gina's fight on You Tube after the event, which I would've done anyway. The one fight's not worth the price of admission, for me anyway.

Todd, do you get your tiny little rocks off insulting everything that is UFC? Your analogies on tonights fights are awesome. Gina has 50% chance of being knocked out, does the other 50% go to Cyborg? Ishida-Melendez should be pretty good.......... are you going to tell us why? What did you mean about main events, didn't really follow that one either.

If GSP executes gameplans and wins by a landslide but doesn't finish, doesn't that just show how good his competition is? Mark Coleman couldn't strike and didn't land near the groundstrikes GSP does. GSP tried to finish Fitch, Fitch just decided to be Rocky Balboa that night. Thiago got worked and GSP hurt his groin. Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't a bad groin impede takedowns and transisions on the ground? Didn't GSP still win the fight there? GSP also outstruck Thiago. Wouldn't it be a bad gameplan to keep it standing against a Muay Thai killer? Mark Coleman liked to "lay and prey" a little bit more than GSP. If GSP wasn't active they would stand the fight up.

Please Todd keep up the good work educating the drone masses. How your only blogging and not working for this website is baffling.

One more thing Toddy.... I missed this one!

GSP is not bigger than Thiago.Thiago has been said to walk around at 200 lbs. GSP says he walks around naturally at 185 so fighting there would require no cut. Thiago couldn't run before the Hughes fight and missed weight by like 8 lbs, not 1 or 2, 8 lbs. Fitch is about the same size as GSP as well.

Do your research Todd.

No thanks; I'll watch Strikeforce Carano v Santos live and not some replayed fights I have already seen, which were lackluster anyway.

Wow great opinion there Delta, "medicore" fights my ass, UFC 100 brought the big guns and they delivered. What does Strikeforce have? Does the casual fan even know or care who Mousasi is? Melendez? Hieron? Gimme a break, this is a perfect strategy, there are thousands of people who didn't see 100, who might have seen Strikeforce to see Carano get her butt whipped tonight but instead they'll see one of the best cards in history (and spare me with Pride, it's gone, long gone, your cries of sadness give me strength).

God I hate when people sign in as Anonymous....

If someone says 100 was lackluster and also misses Pride it makes sense. You miss the bloodsport fights with the soccer kicks to a downed opponent. If people want to see faces of death, rent it. If you want to see top level MMA, order the UFC. Let me guess, these are the same people that dont like ground fighting either. Dont hate a sport you dont understand.

I am excited to see Hieron, Melendez and Mousasi. This would just be so much better if they fought top comp in the UFC. Dont worry though, Strikefarce is only a matter of time and the UFC will put them under also.

Hey if Kyle beats Werdum is he close to being a top contender to Fag-dor? WHAT A COMPELLING MATCH-UP!!!!

Johnny, I'm anonymous only because I casually browse this site, I only used the Pride analogy only because I referred to UFC's card being "one of the best ever" and the typical response is for someone to go "no that's reserved for Pride whatever event 2006 blah blah". I'm not sure how Pride and Faces of Death go hand in hand, but I consider myself to love any aspect of MMA, the ground game is very exciting and I actually despise anyone who pays to see an event and boos it every ten seconds because someone isn't brain dead on the floor.

I'm excited to see Mousasi and I hope they show the Hieron fight on the broadcast, but let's be really, the casual fan couldn't care less about them. If someone who is only semi-interested in MMA has a choice to see the UFC or Strikeforce, they'll pick the UFC 9 times out of 10. This is what the UFC is backing on, highlighting fights that were exciting to give that casual viewer the thought of "hey that's pretty dam good, I'll check out the next UFC event". Strikeforce has to fight for those viewers, UFC has it in the bag.

My apologies to anyone offended by my Pride reference.

JohnnyZ I don't hate the UFC. I watch St. Pierre fight a lot. How come I hear St. Pierre walks around at 190-200. Yeah Alves was a bigger guy but, no way is Fitch just as big. Get your eyes checked. In the Alves fight he didn't outstrike him it was a stalemate but there really wasn't any stand up from him until he hurt his groin. When he fought Koscheck he didn't use his standup against him. He was just bigger and out muscled him to the ground. And while coming into the fight I thought Koscheck could outwrestle him. I didn't think Koscheck would be the more willing striker. His strategy was solid against Alves. However, its his strategy against everyone. No doubt in my mind he is the best in his weight class its just a shame that he'd rather fight the same way over and over. To me he will be a modern day Coleman. Thats what Coleman 101 is. Yeah, there is a total difference St. Pierre transitions and throws more punches.

You need reasons why fights should be good. I need to go and exact footage that these two dudes matchup well. Melendez fights an exciting style. I love watching his fights win or lose. Ishida is a good test for him. Carano when she had her last few fights looked sloppy. Cyborg looks crisp. Carano likes to strike too much and will get caught. In main events they have an equal chance out of any other fight to become a classic. Its why I love mma. Just because its a hyped fight with known fighters I've watched enough to know they can be duds as easily as fights with the people I've never seen before.
