Poor Nog. He is a slave to the UFC. Only if he maintained the #1 spot in Pride he could of made Fedor's $$$.

460K for a fight is top of the market in MMA. But come on, we all know that UFC is milking every fighter. In his 50's Nog's health will seriously take toll. UFC won't be there to feed him.

Cro Cop and Nog are still in the UFC because they have something to prove. They want to be considered a champ in a major organization. Fedor has already achieved this.

Why wouldn't Fedor want a UFC belt?
First, for Fedor, being "a" UFC champ doesn't matter. It is the type of champ that matters, i.e. undisputed, dominant and legendary #1 fighter. So the belt itself doesn't mean anything. In contrast, Mir, Lesnar, and Nog were never really champs. They had "a" belt but it really didn't mean anything because either they didn't have it long enough (Mir, Lesnar, Nog). That is why they are all in the UFC. Fedor was the only HW to ever truly be dominant in a major organization.

Second, Fedor has been successful in fighting outside the UFC. UFC made horrible mistakes of releasing Sylvia and AA. These so called "ex-champs" are Fedor's diet. Fedor is constantly waiting for UFC ex-champs. Guess what? Every HW in the UFC is or will be an ex-champ soon. Mir is already an ex-champ and if he loses to Kongo, he might just leave the UFC and take a gamble with Fedor. He will of course get killed. Lesnar will be an ex-champ soon..mark my word.

I agree.

Like Mike Tyson and Ali, Fedor doesn't care about being a champion itself. To him, it is about being a "dominant and legendary" champion.

In this sense, UFC belt does not matter to Fedor because he already has the Pride belt. He is beyond that stage of life.

Also, Fedor's dominance in MMA is greater than those of Tyson or Ali. Both of them had losses even in their primes and weren't dominant for 10+ years.

Anybody can lose in an MMA fight. And everyone (even ASilva and GSP) got "caught" at one point of their careers against a relatively weak opponents (Ryo Chonen and Serra). What differentiates Fedor from Silva and GSP is the fact that Fedor survived those moments. He was close to being submitted by Hunt. He was almost knocked out by Fujita, and Randleman. Yet he ended up surviving that. Fedor = god given luck + god given skill.
