Leben played all his cards against Bisping

Chris "The Crippler" Leben went into UFC 89 with the intentions of knocking Michael "The Count" Bisping out, but found himself at the end of the Englishman's punches and unable to solidly connect with his looping strikes.

Frustration mounted in the waning moments of round two when Leben dropped his hands and walked in without defense into Bisping's jabs in an effort to get The Ultimate Fighter season three winner to exchange with him.

Leben would repeat the same tactic in the final seconds for round three. "He had landed more shots during the fight. I knew he had probably won those other rounds, so I said, I've got to draw him in somehow," explained Leben.

"I was playing ever card I had. At that point I was like screw the straight. I was trying to get him to come in and bang with me a little bit and maybe I can land that shot," he added. "Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't. This time I didn't. It was Bisping's night."

I think if Chris would get the technical side of his boxing up to par with his chin and punching power he could be a very formidable opponent but he is relying on his natural abilities too much kind of like BJ was. Maybe its something to do with HAWAII :-) I would have really liked to see Chris win that fight. At least Bisping realizes he is not ready for Anderson yet. If they were to fight Michael, would be down for the "count"

Chris Leben definitely looked like the bigger and stronger fighter, but it's hard to fight somebody who backpedals and runs away as good as Bisping does. Fancy footwork or not, I say he was running away and Leben said that's what he would do. Too bad he couldn't find a way to stop him.

Yeah, I feel the same. Leban was definately the aggressor. I thought that would be more visible in the judges eyes, but I guess they saw back pedaling, and throwing straight jabs, trying to win a fight. I'm proud of Leban, he's come a long way. Wonder what would of happened if Chris would've just stood there?

You Leben fans drive me nuts. Bisping fought a smart fight. Banging and getting into a brawl with Leben plays into Leben's strengths. So when someone decides that's not the best idea he gets ripped for it. The idea is to win the fight, and that's what Bisping did. He made Leben look terrible. Leben is just a guy with a granite chin and a big left hand. Nothing more. Bisping exposed him.
