First of all let me say that Silva is the best!!!! Dana White should be embarassed for himself. He is the one who put that no namer against the champ. He is the CHAMP!!! Dana should step back and offer Chuck his job. Chuck has done more for the sport then Dana could ever accomplish. He is respectful, clearly knows the sport and has the respect of all the fighters. Chuck for President!!!
I'm not sure how you can boo Silva. Why, just because he didn't go out there guns a blazin? He was cautious like he should be. Got taken down once...got out of it and then defended the take-down masterfully the rest of the fight. Silva did whatever he wanted in this fight showing how great his stand-up is. He also showed me a new level of athleticism. His take-down defense and barrage of strikes will not be displayed by anyone else. Nobody has more tools in there bag. Should Silva have been more aggressive? Maybe but in my opinion he sat there and threw on Lettes and was waiting for Lettes to respond and he never did. Come on folks jabbing to your opponents thigh? That is asking for a counter but it never came. Silva showed everyone that he is head and shoulders above everyone else. The disappointment should lie with the challenger, Lettes. He didn't do anything other than try a few take-downs. If you were given a shot at the title wouldn't you let it hang out in the last round? I know I would have. White shouldn't be embarrassed by Silva...Silva put on a clinic displaying more of a barrage of strikes than I've seen in MMA. He threw everything from every angle too. Silva even changed up his defense several times hoping to invite Lettes in but that didn't do it either. Joe Silva and Dana White will need to do a better job of putting fighters in front of Silva because he's that good. This was a masterful performance in my opinion. Silva showed how the sweet science of MMA can be used. He landed everything and never got hit...that's what he's suppose to do. LOL Let's not get carried away with the MMA barbaric old school mentality where if there is no blood or knockouts then you boo.I love this sport for everything it stands for. Don't fall into that category and just be a fan of blood and Ko's. Enjoy everything about the sport when you watch A. Silva fight because you will see it all on display...this is a sport and Silva is the best at it. Take the other top pound for pound fighters in the world GSP, Fedor, Torres. Anderson Silva I do believe is the pound for pound best fighter in the world. He is so complete in every aspect of the fight game. The thing is I believe is that he is not going to take unnecessary risks in fights. Cote has rock hard jaw and a big punch, Leites has world class jiu-jitsu. Silva, while maybe boring, is a counter fighter. Franklin, Hendo, Leben, Marquardt, all tried to push the action, and they got pummeled. Leites just flopped down trying to get Silva down, He's not going to put himself in danger for the sake of the fans, which is smart. Silva is the best, but, for him to knockout guys within a round or two he needs guys to bring it to him. Also who is left that can push silva, or maybe even beat him; Okami, Bisping, Maia, Almeida, Polhares, Akiyama, Kang, Wandy, who? Dana maybe embarassed, but, there needs to be someone at 185 that can give him a fight, and give him a reason to have to fight for his life, because as long as he gets guys who are one dimensional and not willing to engage, they'll be more boring Anderson Silva vitories.

I agree with Dana as to Chuck. If Dana was truly selfish, he would continue to have Chuck fight and make money off his name selling out PPVs. Instead, Dana is doing something almost no other promoters do, he is saving Chuck from himself. How many fighters refuse to acknowledge it's time to hang them up and then go on to become brain damaged shells of their former selves? Evander Holyfield comes to mind immediately. Chuck is doing well financially, he's going to be offered a position with the UFC, and will still be able to actually remember his fights in the UFC well enough to tell his grandkids about them, rather then being a babbling vegetable by the time he is 50.

Chuck is doing well financially, he's going to be offered a position with the UFC, and will still be able to actually remember his fights in the UFC well enough to tell his grandkids about them, rather then being a babbling vegetable by the time he is 50.
Dana is sending the wrong signal to the fans by apologizing. There was absolutely nothing to apologize for and he should be ashamed of himself for stooping so low.
If Dana wants a more exciting fight then he should stop dicking around with this less than stellar opponents. Silva has been asking for big fights for over a year but they keep putting him against these so called contenders. If they had put him against Liddell that night instead you would have seen a war.
