For you mat enthusiasts who wondered, late at night, how the best heavyweight in the world and the man with the most colorful pants in the world would match-up, your day is coming soon.
In a Thursday press release, M-1 announced that company man Fedor Emelianenko and Japanese star Shinya Aoki would get it on in a grappling-only match at the next M-1 Challenge event on April 29 in Tokyo.
The match will be five minutes in duration--just enough time for Aoki to feel the 60- plus pound weight disadvantage--but rules have not yet been sketched out.
In M-1 team action, it's Japan vs. England, Team USA West vs. South Korea, and Spain vs. France.
If Aoki submits Emelianenko in Tokyo....the world may spin off its axis.

I love these guys... but what the hell?
Fedor is to scared to pick on someone his own size. The guy is all Hype is behind Silva and GSP as far as pound for pound goes.

who knows man... crazier shit has happened. Aoki is a pretty damn good submission guy and i personally think Fedor is losin it... its a crazy sport we love... should be fun to watch either way.

its interesting two have the best fighters go at it. aoki is a amazing fighter and so its fedor. I thing aoki has a better chance of submiting fedor then brock. Fitch? Rashad? Henderson? wtf? GSP destroyed Finch. Rashad is a mouthly fool who got one lucky punch on an aging Chuck. Henderson is just another one that's aging. Henderson lost to Silva and he didn't look so great against Rich. He couldn't even finish Franklin like Silva did. TWICE! This Aoki Fedor fight is dumb, and they're just delaying trying to find someone to actually give Fedor a run for his money, like Arlovski did.
You never are going to see the real great ones face each other any more, until all the money has been sucked up with dumb fights that people could pay money for. It's a business, not a sport.

fedor is junk look at all his fights, he hasnt beat anyone with any talent in a long time, we might as well see fedor fight Kimbo slice, they are both a product of there company, they cant fight anyone with talent.
Fedor is Like Kimbo what has he proven? who has he fought that has shocked anyone. Big huge guys 60 plus pounds on him...(with not talent) who don't know MMA. FEDOR IS A TOTAL JOKE AND LUCKED OUT WITH ARLOVSKI. Arlovski was working him and made a mistake and beat himself.
