Carmichael Dave On Details of Fedor's Deal -- UPDATE

Radio show host Carmichael Dave of Sports 1140 KHTK AM was just one of many to weigh in on today's news that Fedor Emelianenko was not UFC bound, but he relayed some interesting -- if unverified -- details about the UFC's deal with the Russian and his reps.

We know now that Fedor and his M-1 business partners, including manager Vadim Finkelchtein, had a teleconference with UFC officials yesterday, in which the UFC made an offer to secure Emelianenko's services.

According to Carmichael Dave -- who has had regular access to UFC president Dana White for some time -- this is the offer that M-1 ended up turning down. (But again, we must stress that this is unverified.)

- A 6-fight, $30 million contract

- An immediate title shot at UFC 103 against Brock Lesnar

- A cut of the UFC 103 pay-per-view on top of Fedor's purse

- The ability for Fedor to wear as many M-1 logoed items as he wished

- The ability for Fedor to compete in combat Sambo

At a press conference held in Anaheim on Wednesday, Finkelchtein stressed that without co-promotion between the UFC and M-1, Emelianenko would not grace the Octagon any time soon.

Whether the parties come together for a second round of negotiations remains unknown, but Finkelchtein said he and Emelianenko were currently fielding offers from multiple promotions.

---UPDATED 6:30 ET ON JULY 30---

Since initial reports of Carmichael Dave's comments on the UFC's contract offer to Fedor, there have been several other reports contradicting the terms mentioned.

One of the most substantial is Loretta Hunt's report on Sherdog.com. She spoke to Joost Raimond, CEO for M-1 Global, who "called the report 'completely ludicrous' and said negotiations never even reached the point where the number of fights contracted for Emelianenko was decided."

Raimond did, however, characterize negotiations with the UFC as "very professional, productive and respectful."

Vinkelstein is a tool. Fedor needs to find a new manager. He's not going to get a deal better than that anytime soon.

If fedor wants to preserve his legacy and to be known as the best fighter p4p. He need to come to the ufc. Other wise he will just go down as a fighter that dodge the best.

Anonymous said...

If this is accurate 5 Million per fight plus a cut of the Pay Per View I cannot understand what more he would want. Something does not seem right here. There has to be more to the story but if this is the deal I am shocked that he did not accept.

Anonymous said...

doesn't anyone realize this is dana trying to discredit fedor as he does any fighter that steps out of the ufc vision

Anonymous said...

He(Fedor)or his Manager are scared to fight Lesnar,I dislike Lesnar and want to see how it would play out, but bottom line Fedor does'nt want to lose at this time in his career to much money for him to make.If he fought and lost to Lesnar all that would be over,it would show that he was not the best, but if he won man he would go done in MMA history as the best heavy weight ever but i feel you will not see it for a long time, until he is older so if he was to lose he would have an excuse.one more note the deal if it is real from UFC to Fedor is one sweet deal he would be nuts to turn it down and if he doesnt sign with ufc forget him stop talking about him and deal with the great fighters in the ufc that are already here.

Joe said...

If Fedor doesn't sign it's because the Russian Mob (who I believe is pulling his strings) is behind the mess. Fedor will RUIN his career if he doesn't take the contract. People will dog him more than ever before and I think you'll even see the MMA media lose their respect for him also. Fedor will eventually slip away from the top 5 heavyweights and will be hated by most in the MMA world. This really is do or die for Fedor. I hope the mobsters realize this. They are ruining a great fighter. My hats off to Dana and the Fertitas for making this offer (if in fact it is true and accurate).

the guy that said "this is Dana trying to discredit Fedor" is a tool. Shut up and let the adults talk.

Anonymous said...

why don't they just allow M-1 to be the major sponsor for all fedor headlined events.

Anonymous said...

all of fedors opponents will just fail drug tests one after the other, until he signs with the ufc. they probably laced barnetts kool-aid

Anonymous said...

Lesnar would destroy Fedor. He will never sign with the UFC because he will not be the number 1 ranked fighter in the world after his first fight. Who has this guy fought the past few years? Certainly not the top level competition he would face in the UFC.

Anonymous said...

If Fedor does not sign with the UFC after getting an offer like that i will not spend any of my money to buy a ppv he is on.

Anonymous said...

Fedor needs new managers otherwise he is not gonna get any farther

Bradford said...

its perfectly acceptable for a great fighter to relax and fight nothing but cans in the twilight of their career. if thats what fedor wants to bring about, the twilight of his career, hes doing a hell of a job!

Anonymous said...

Fedor and his crew are very concerned (and should be) that he is not as great as they have him positioned to appear. He has not fought anyone recently that is jaw-dropping or ranked in the top of the game. Where does his #1 world ranking come from? He has fought nobody worthy of calling him the best in the world.

He may be the best, but the ONLY way to prove it is to step into the octagon and beat the best. Lesnar is good, but there are better. He needs to drop the charade and come to the UFC to cement his legacy (if there is one to cement).

Diesel said...

Finkelchtein rejected the offer because there was nothing in it for him. He's looking out for himself, not Fedor. Finkelchtein will still need to make money once Fedor retires and the only chance he has at doing so is by exploiting Fedor to get the M-1 Global name out there now. The guy is turning down 5MM a fight!...think about that...he's saying that more than 5x what the current highest paid fighters make is not enough. Finkelchtein is a JOKE.

Diesel said...

And I don't understand where you people are coming from saying that Fedor and his management team are scared. The guy is fresh off of demolishing the 2 most recent UFC heavyweight champions. If anything he may have a false sense of security. This is all about the money that M-1 gets and Finkelchtein's greed

Anonymous said...

2 problems keeping M-1 from taking that deal. 1. They want more $$ for themselves, Fedor as their meal ticket. 2. They want to co-promote and steer his fights, meaning who he fights. Now for some opinion! I doubt he could get through Couture, no way he could get though Mir, and lesnar-Carwin-Valasquez would destroy his legacy in the first round. The ufc would win huge. 30 million deal to get crushed in one fight..so much for legacy...so much for EA video game cover boy.

Anonymous said...

I could care less about Fedor right now. He can go to Strikeforce and fight some cans. The UFC should sign Overeem, Arlovski, Aleks E., and maybe even Monson and say screw it with Fedor.

Anonymous said...

Wow. Fedor's manager doesn't appear to be in touch with reality. $5 mil a fight is far and away much higher than any fighter on the UFC payroll. Very, very sad! UFC has clearly gone above and beyond to secure Fedor's services.

Anonymous said...

I still believe Fedor is the best, his management is the problem Vadim knows as long as he has Fedor hell be making a lot of money off him. Fedor needs to get rid of Vadim and if he do well definately see him in the UFC

Anonymous said...

All MMA fans believe everything that comes out of Dana's mouth..Dont forget Pride was bigger then UFC, fighters like wandy, anderson, rampage etc.. list goes on all came from Pride. UFC is awesome without a doubt but the heavyweight division has nothing but cans look at randy he got ktfo by Chuck lol are you kidding he will beat Fedor? Ask Rampage what has thinks about Fedor he said, "that is a one bad dude, I would be scared to be in the ring with him.

Anonymous said...

I will be very disappointed if the UFC pays Fedor too much money. There's guys in UFC already that are under paid for there services. Fedor is not as good as he thinks, Dana was right before that Randy was way better than him a couple of years ago. To me he(Fedor) likes it that he is rated #1 and doesn't have to really defend it against anyone credible. Stay in all the sub fight clubs and fight B rated guys. I don't like Lesnar, but I think he can beat Fedor.

Anonymous said...

if Fedor really turned thid down I really just stopped wanting him in the UFC. Dana paying Fedor $5million per sends shockwaves through the pay the other top stars will sign for. We have already watched BJ, Couture and jens leave. If dana was willing to pay that much he is smart enough to see what was on the horizon as far as other fighters demands.

I will guarentee if Strikeforce signs Fedor they will be out of business within a year. Every other organization that has signed one fighter to build around, and for Fedors money that is what Strikeforce will be doing, they invest to much time and advertisment in that fighter. Scott Coker came out and said they would probably be headed to Pay-Per-View if Fedor signs. This is another kiss of death. They will come out with one killer card or one mega fedor and "The Last Emporers Conquerer" fight and then will struggle after that to give Fedor any real competition. Pay-Per-View is the UFCs domain, stay out or be put out.I enjoy Strikeforce right now, and they are already having the same cast for most cards.Strikeforce please dont sign Fedor.Fedor please get new management.

EDoggFunkMonk said...

I don't believe the numbers. 5 mil per fight plus a cut of the Pay Per View?

Sorry, the UFC doesn't throw money like this around to fighters. They can develop their own buzz without the big names and put together an entire card of intriguing match ups for less money than they would have to pay Fedor for 1 fight.

Wow mmaweekly should be ashamed of itself. Nobody with any brains believes that the ufc would pay fedor $5 million per fight. What a load of bs.

JohnnyZ said...

Edogg hit it on the head. Do we really want to compromise the system for one fighter? Fedor is a great fighter, but he didn't look good at all against Andrei Glass-Jaw-Ski. What of this signing if Brock just simply takes him down and pounds him out? There are no ropes to manipulate the rules with in the cage. Hong Man Choi is a side show freak and to knock down and choke out an old Sylvia is nice but overrated. Not even Brock fights with his hands down like the Maine-iac did against Fedor.

Trent Buxton said...

I think it's awesome that someone is in a position to stand up to the UFC that is already a huge monopoly at this point. Look at it this way UFC has been making several hundreds of $ millions off every pay per view for the last 6 plus years, they need to stop being so greedy and pay the fighters more $. What they are paying fighters now is chump change compared to what they are putting in thier pockets. UFC needs to get closer to boxing money period. This sport is way more brutal with way more at stake. My props to Fedor and M-1 for flipping UFC the bird, give him $10 mil a fight and up the base pay for all fighters overall.

Diesel said...

Keep in mind that the UFC works it into their contracts that they can cut a fighter at any time. They might be thinking bring in Fedor to fight Brock. If Fedor loses you just built the hype for Brock being the best HW in the world to all new levels, while also discrediting Fedor and supporting what Dana has been saying all along....then they cut him...and it only cost them $5M.

Tony Arnold said...

I know my personal opinion does not matter much, but I will never recognize Fedor as the best lb for lb fighter in the world until he jumps into the UFC and beats a UFC champ who is not washed up. The UFC has the best talent in the world hands down and if Fedor is as good as advertised and a true competitor then he will prove his is the best and fight the best guys in the world and not guys who were washed up so they are no longer in the UFC. Andrei Arlovski and Tim Sylvia are far from the best in the world at the heavyweight division.

JohnnyZ said...

Mr. Trent Buxton, please explain where you get your information. There is more at stake in the UFC???? It is medical science that says 2 men standing and bludgeoning each other to the head is more risky than a flash knockout. A standing 8 count lets a half concussed fighter recover enough will to continue. Accumulative damage is far worse then a flash knockout. A flash knockout is like hitting an emergency stop to prevent irreversible damage. How many deaths have been attributed to major MMA promotions, oh yeah none.Boxers have been dying since the beginning of boxing.

This is still a young sport. For Dana to start throwing around money the way Pride, Elite-xc, or Affliction did would be stupid. By the way, when is the next scheduled event for any of the three?

The next time you think your'e arguing against just the UFC reread what you write and make sure your'e not falsley insulting the whole sport.

obviously most of the fools on here have been following mma and fedor for about a week. i usually don't get down on people about their opinions, but most of these comments are so ridicilious that i'm kind of surprised. but i shouldn't be because their is alot of people that believe every little bit of drivel that dana puts out there. use your own common sense. your talking about a life long combat mma practitioner, against a pro wrestler.and i don't care that he wrestled when he was younger. he still hasn't been hit like fedor can hit. frank mir is such a threat. get real. keep listening to the ufc hype machine

Wow Fedor and his manager are too full of themselves.. Fedor isn't even that great of a pay-per-view buy. Most mma fighters would kill for a contract like this and Fedor and his cocky manager want more... how greedy can you get Fedor..

IT IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY FEDOR IS THE PEOPLES CHAMP THE FIGHTERS CHAMP.
This is probably not what offered anyway. M-1 VS UFC pay per view will be the clinching blow in this obviously. Fedor should have a night where he fights until he gets tired and we will see how many guys he can take out.

wow Ryan knows all, you are such a good girlfriend to Fedor. FEDOR IS THE PEOPLES CHAMP, HE IS RYANS CHAMP. I know a website where you can get more Fedor posters for your bathroom walls.

Fedor no doubt is the best fighter in the world. He has beaten a lot of great fighters. If he goes to the UFC who will he fight? He beats Lesnar and where does he go from there. Nog will smash Couture and that leaves Nog and Fedor which Fedor has won 3 times. I would love to see that fight too but Fedor has no challenge in UFC either. Crocop is back and Fedor has beaten him, Mir, or Kongo or anyone else has no chance at beaten him. Everyone needs to get off of UFC's jock and realize that all of the really great fighters in UFC came from PRIDE. Anderson and Vandy, Rampage, Hendo, Nog, and Shogun to name a few so shut up already about the UFC.

Anonymous said...

"All of the really great fighters came from Pride?" Dude, learn some history before popping off! Hendo and Wandy were in the UFC before Pride even exsisted! Back in the day when the government was trying to outlaw this great sport and the UFC was in a tent in Bay St. Louis, Miss. in front of less than 5K people(I saw it live, did you?) and no longer on cable, the Japanese were throwing wads of cash at all of the great UFC fighters of the time to get them to defect and fight in Pride. Mark Kerr, Mark Coleman, Big Daddy Goodridge, Don Frye, Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock and many more all graced the ring while UFC nearly went completely under. Before you talk smack about the UFC you should get the facts straight! The simple truth is without the Fertitta bros. and Dana White we would not even be talking about MMA in the U.S. Fedor great or not is ONLY one man. He is obviously the puppet of a management company that only has their own self-interests in mind. As long as Fedor is involved with these clowns we will never see him in the Octagon. Sad, but true. As a fan, I think it sucks, but let's face it ... in the world we live in now, atheletes, agents and ownership, no matter what they say publicly, do not have us in mind. It's only about the all-mighty dollar. Quite ironic really, since we are the ones that have to pony-up in the end. The UFC will never, ever co-promote an event, period. If they were willing to do so, they would've been on HBO a long time ago.

The comments on this blog and all the dueche bags on it is why I am starting to hate the sport I love. Every day I wish I could beat dana's ass for causing soo many dumb fucks to flock to mma. Jesus I hate the ufc I hope fedor goes to dream. I can't even go to a live event anymore cuz all I hear is "fuckin hit him! Shit!" and "get off the ground and fight like a man!" please go back to football or hockey, he'll even baseball I don't give a fuck just stay away from mma, or "ultimate fighting" as your retarded ass probably calls it

Anonymous said...

why should fedor sign with ufc, besides lesnar, mir and 1 or 2 other guys they really don't have that much competition in their heavyweight roster.

EDoggFunkMonk said...

I don't think there's a lot of competition at Heavyweight anywhere. Affliction had only a few guys and they were hemorrhaging money to get them. If all the MMA World wants is Heavyweights than they need to fight overseas where drug testing doesn't exist. (Hey, is that why Pride had so many good heavyweights?)

UFC is taking some good steps to increase the Heavyweight ranks with the TUF show. (I know, TUF and Zuffa are killing the sport... blah, blah, blah) Hopefully, one or two fighters will emerge and have legit careers in a few years.

Anonymous said...

#1 Who cares what the fans are screaming as long as the paying to see the product and continue to grow the sport

#2 Whoever it was that replied to the Pride defender, Thanks. I been trying to tell this idiot for days that Wandy and Hendo were in the UFC before Pride. Anderson was 2-2 in Pride and only showed true sucess once he went to Cage Rage and then eventually the UfC, to call him a Pride fighter is stupid.

#3 Damn straight w/out Dana, Lorenzo and Frank the UFC would be gone a long time ago. We are at the point where big name boxers are insulting MMA out of fear.(Gayweather) With Dana involved we might even be able to answer that question some day, Miguel Torres seems more than happy to prove who the most complete fighters on the planet are.

#4 If Fedor wouldn't have competition in the UFC than there is no point him fighting anymore. Outside the UFC you are looking at him fighting a bloated Overeem or perhaps a inexperienced Brett Rogers. Rogers did KO Andrei Glass-Jaw-Ski but to be honest his jaw is completly compromised at this point and after being hit once he moved straight back not avoiding the power of Rogers at all. FEDOR was losing to Arlovski before his haymaker ended the fight. To be honest I dont like Brock but I wont say he wouldn't take Fedor down and pound the hell out of the much smaller opponent.

At the end of the day Dana still looks like the smartest guy in the room. Do not overpay for a guy with at best equal starpower to the stars you put out there each and every event. Just keep putting all the so called competition out of business and eventually Fedor will lose anyway or have to sign. Every fighter loses eventually.

hey this is the apparent little kid that is stupid to think that dana would try to make someone look bad....really that is hard for you too believe watch everything dana says for a year and how many times he 180s and acts like that was always his position cause he is a mouth for the money(lorenzo and frank). The UFC cares about MMA but only whe parts they own they have proven this time and again
look at the randy situation he was washed up in their eyes until they owned him again all hail your new pimp the ufc via dana big fucking stupid mouth (its like the ufc is Ingsoc they use doublespeak all the time, read a book to figure that line out or more likely drink beer and beat up nerds till they tell you what it means)

Anonymous said...

Hey stupid, business is cut-throat. You show me where Dana hasn't given us more of the sport than any other promotion. Randy had some pretty bad things to say about the financial side of things. Dana broke a personal rule and called a presser to disclose paystubs to discredit Randys' allegations. I never heard Dana say Randy was washed up, but would you blame him,he was pissed. He also gave Randy an immediate title shot in his return appearance, what a lack of respect.Dana is a little more than a Fertita mouthpiece. Watch the latest CNBC special to see where this sport has really come from since the late 90s.

I dont know why people would rather have 2 equal promotions rather than 1 frontrunner. At least now we answer the questions of who would win dream match ups.Keep searching for Dana being inconsistant in what he says. You will find things to bitch and whine about seeing as he is always in the spotlight being put on the spot. While you waste all that energy as the UFC continues to grow and prove morons like yourself wrong, I will sit back and enjoy the fights.

Anonymous said...

why the hell would fedor sign with the ufc when dana white talks so much shit about him and even more shit about his manager, i think its common sense that if you want to sign a guy thats something you should do

Anonymous said...

hey its stupid again. I find it funny that dana being successful is proving me wrong for calling him an asshole I never said his tactics were uneffective I was just calling them out for what they are. And yeah business is cutthroat thats why scumbags like dana enjoy it doesn't mean hes a fucking hero he gets what he wants from mma in his cheque (signed fertita) and his ego trips .

Anonymous said...

Fedor can't fight in the ufc because hes really dana white ITs True its damn true

Anonymous said...

Co-promote and I will sign with you. All you Fedor apologists and Dana bashers go to your boss and ask him to put your name on the sign out front, see how quick you are kicked out of the office. I would like to see Fedor fight the best, but not at the expense of the greater good af MMA. Dana is such an asshole that he just signed Tito, Vitor, Rothwell, Daley and many more. They will not only be signed but actually fight and be paid. No question marks in the weeks approaching fight night. That is why I am a fan of Dana White. Sometimes you can't please everyone. Hell sometimes you will even piss people off. Dana is man enough to stick to his guns and continue running an ultra sucessful business.

Anonymous said...

I think that fedor will sign with the ufc in three fights(my opinion remember. When he talked about the whole situation he seemed disappointed and kept mentioning that he is very happy with his management but would also keep saying he only had three fights left ( I think hes to much of a sportsman ie professional to bash his management

Anonymous said...

That last point was damn good. It is kind of refreshing to see an athlete honor an entire contract the way Barry Sanders or Walter Payton used to. I have been on here defending the integrity of the UFC and Dana quite a bit.(2 comments ago started Co-Promote was me) Lost in all this is I still think Fedor is about as classy as you can get in sports today. I just think his management is honestly nuts. Normally you fight for more money or a longer contract. These things directly benefit the athlete. To ask to co-promote seems to me, and I welcome being corrected, like it only benefits M-1. They honestly couldn't think the Fertitas, let alone Dana, would give away that much for one fighter. People forget that Fedor also benefits from fighting on the largest stage possible. If he is still the Fedor of old and if that was ever good enough to beat giant takedown artists in a cage, then he becomes an instant p4p legend by dusting UFC competition. Alot still has to be said about cage vs ring and the variables that would work against Fedor fighting wrestlers that outweigh him.(Lesnar,Carwin and Cain come to mind) The cage would even benefit that wiley old dog Couture. Why would the UFC give up free M-1 promotional exposure for a guy that might not be the worldbeater everyone claims.

Anonymous said...

Fedor needs to quit being a little bitch and force his manager to make a deal with the ufc. The UFC has the best competition, and if he doesnt sign with the ufc than i'll lose all respect i have for him

Hey Stupid, what heavyweights does the rest of the world have to offer? Overeem, KOd by Chuck and Shogun. I like Brett Rogers, but he only has one name fight on his record: Andrei Glass-Jaw-Ski(ok Ive overused that). Werdum was cut by the UFC, by his own request after being KOd by Dos Santos. Hahaha johnny I said great established fighters not mediocre b level fighters. The only other good fighters on that list are lesnar carwin and maybe gonzaga. Everyone else is either getting old or wasn't ever hat good to begin with. And your right the rest ofth world doesn't have that much to offer either but I'm sure they can match 2
fighters. Fedor doesn't need to be fighting up and coming fighters at this point in his career. And I think dana white is the devil because all he cares about is money, yes I understand he made the sport as popular as it is today but I was more happy when one in evry 20 people had heard of the ufc and nooo one outside of people on the Internet had heard of pride. But I digress, fedor has to fight big fights he doesn't need to prove himself to anyone just because people haven't heard of him isn't his fault if you haven't seen fedors fights your not a true fan

JohnnyZ said...

People want to be polarized by a great HW so bad. What do you suggest Dana does? I keep hearing why Dana is only in it for the money, but I have yet to here a valid solution to the dilemna. It is all about the money. It is all about a monopoly. Do you watch the NFL or the AFL? MLB or ALB? NBA or ABA? Boxing has 20 belts per weightclass, how has that worked out? The UFC is a competition with the goal being the same as any other, annoint the best as Champion. If I'm right that there is no one outside the UFC and you don't want Fedor to fight anyone on the current roster, Fedor might as well retire and we will just call him the best. GSP just fought a 25 year old Thiago Alves. He also fought a winner of TUF who didn't climb the ranks. These were the fights put in front of them and they fought them. Don't get me wrong, Alves was the #1 contender, but GSP couldv'e sat out until Dana gave him King Anderson. There is only one Fedor, if he doesn't fight the best competition waiting for another guy with his credentials he will probably never fight again. The new challenge in front of him should be fighting in the Cage as apposed to a ring.

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO DISPATCHING ALL COMPETITION REGARDLESS OF STYLE OR VENUE? TO BE THE BEST YOU GO TO WHERE THE BEST COMPETITION IS AND BEAT THEM!

JohnnyZ said...

One more thing....
I guess I have been spoiled watching THE GREAT CHUCK LIDDELL over the years. He is not my favorite fighter, but I can't think of a fighter I respect more.Chuck fought anyone, anywhere, end of story! Chuck fought Babalu when Chuck was already the #1 contender on the same card Tito put the belt on the line against Ken Shamrock???? That worked out so well that Tito ended up holding out and then Chuck ended up fighting Couture. Moral to the story is Chuck waited to long to get a shot and even fought in Pride on a $250,000 wager by Dana. Chuck never hand picked anyone and always wanted the hardest fights. HE NEVER SAID NO! Whether it is good or bad for Fedor to fight Cain, Carwin, Brock or Randy he needs to be fighting to be the best. It's not Fedors fault he fights in the most shallow weightclass in MMA, but this is his weightclass and he needs to fight to be considered the best fighter P4P. M-1 Global has always done right by Fedor for the short term or the immediate, but look at the mess this has caused Fedor, the major fight promotions and the fans. Companies that step in and sign a fighter think they are entitled way too much! M1-Global is bad for the sport and Fedor. Isn't it there job to get him the best deal and look after his career?

I just dont like seeing people bash fedor even if they are fighters and especially if their not.
That is my only point of contention with dana in this situation, like dana said the guy doesnt want money or to test himself(well he does but this next thing is more important) he respects that he signed with M1 and that they handle his nogotiations, I think people from NA have a hard time with that idea if you dont take the money you must be scared is the general mantra I hear from people but then have you ever fought Hong man choi( just saying think about it)

To the Anonymous idiot above - Don't take everything so literally. Other than couture, Sylvia and Arlovski were the 2 most recent champs at the time of the fedor sylvia fight. I don't count nog's interim sh*t. All these other champs happened after fedor fought sylvia. So relax and go f*ck yourself.

It's as simple as this, if those were the terms offered and they turned them down, Fedor is dodging the competition in the UFC and I lost all respect for the man.

JohnnyZ said...

Strikeforce President Scott Coker came out and said: "We now have the #1 male and female P4P fighters on the planet." Fedor hasn't faced Brett Rogers yet and even if he does beat him how the hell does that make him the P4P best???????? The UFC even signed Rothwell and check out the TUF line-up. I guess this sets up the highly anticipated Fedor vs Abongo Humphrey match-up. I hope Scott Coker is a man of his word and stays away from PayPerView so Strikeforce stays in business.

The worse part is Dana signed every HW out there, even the B-levels with a little bit of name power, to force Fedor and M-1 to have no choice but to sign with the UFC. With that said even M-1 admitted they were still offered a killer contract. FEDOR STILL SIGNED WITH STRIKEFORCE?!?!?!?!
This simply shows it was more about M-1 benefitting from having Fedor than them looking out for their fighters best interests. At 33 and at the mid to tail end of his prime Fedor better start fighting the better guys out there soon. Power is great but speed is the first thing to leave an aging fighter. Without great speed smaller fighters have a harder time negating larger fighters reach and wrestling prowess. Not saying Fedor is showing any signs now, but he did look like shit against Arlovski until he landed a Hail Mary to a glass jaw.

Thank God this is the most shallow uninteresting weightclass in the world of MMA!

Thank God we have BJ,GSP,King Anderson,Lyoto and even as much as I hate to say it, Brock fighting great competition in compelling match-ups!

One more thing....again:

I have not missed a UFC,Pride or Affliction PayPerView in over 12 years.

I pay for Showtime to see Strikeforce.

Until recently I recieved HDNET by paying extra for the HD package through Crime Warner.

I subscribe to the UFC vault.

I have also spent endless amounts of money on MMA paraphenalia and usually don't leave the house without wearing at least an MMA shirt for a little small scale advertisement.

I have every right, and as much right to voice my opinion as anyone involved with MMA! Whether I have fought or not has nothing to do with it. I dare anyone to show me a MORE loyal fan, within his or her means, and then I will stop voicing my opinion.

lets face it fedor doesn't want to be in the UFC to face to fighters, he has beaten the last 2 ufc guys he has faced BOTH where cut by the UFC cuz they suck.. Fedor has nothing, he has shitty striking, and an okay ground game, Lesnar would EAT HIM. Fedor almost lost to MATT the law linland, are you kidding me....fedor is junk over hyped junk. He wants no part of the UFC and i dont blame him, he is average.

hahahahahaha what does brock have? size, thats it, no skill at all. he cant strike for shit he's just a big mother fucker. these deals have nothing to do with fedor its his shitty fucking management who care more about the company then fedor. i really dont think fedor gives a flying fuck where, who, or how much money he makes hes a russian whos made enough money to live off i highly doubt he gives a fuck he's past his prime but he's proved more then any other fighter has in the history of MMA. just because it was before the UFC exploded and all of sudden all you faggets started watching spike tv and fell in love with "ultimate fighting" doesnt mean he isnt legit. im really sicking of people talkingn shit about fedor he has nothing left to prove, watch old PRIDE dvds and find out for yourself. jesus i miss it when only real mma fans read this website.

lol well brett rogers deserves some respect hes only a fight or so behind cain and carwin (in what hes proven) and one of them are fighting brock next, werdum was about a fight away from a title shot before dos santos, and well I like overeem but he needs to step up to be more then B level.
( and sylvia had the ufc gold his fight before fedor, and arlovski left on a win, against O'brien but you know still a win)
but johnnys right it is a crap division anyway
and P4P is opinion its hard enough to define rankings in WCs let alone outside of

Sorry S4L, didn't mean to dog the Grimm. He is a hard worker and a nasty striker. His takedown defense also looks pretty damn good. It is just hard to guage a guy like him before he fights at least one or two more name fighters. How can I not like him, he is a Midwest guy.

The UFC has the quantity of the big names in the HW division, that is why I wanted Fedor there. Water under the bridge. One thing I will say is Fedors ground game is underrated if anything. Nog has the best grip and wrist control of any HW,and used it well to set up a black belt jits game. Fedor dropped bombs and shrugged off all Nogs subs. To say Fedors striking is shit is stupid too, his blend of speed and power are awesome. I just hate that we wont find out all the "what ifs".Isn't Werdum just a weaker version of Pride Nog? I guess that could set-up some suspense. If Overeem beats Fedor than Fedor has just simply lost a step.

Did anyone read that Dream is trying to set up Barnett vs Antonio "Big Foot" Silva? Both of these guys pissed hot for roids. Are they trying to sell fights using known cheats? This is why I love the Anti-Doping policies here in our major promotions. Sean Sherk actually passed lie detector tests but was still suspended because even inadvertant cheating is still cheating!Whether your honest or not,"I didn't know" doesn't cut it.

Fedor used to be my favorite fighter whom I respected very much. Now I think he is a coward. This is typical of Russians going all the way back to the Soviets. They like to put up this stoic, cold, hardened wanna-be tough guy demeaner to show the world that they are mighty. But when it comes down to it, nothing scares these people more than taking on, not just the best America has to offer, but also anybody in the world who calls them on their bullshit.

Are you kidding me Todd? Lets just go on record labeling an entire group of people based on what? Being Italian I do have to say I have fallen into this same trap you fell into. As I grew up their was a fighter that made me proud to be Italian. He was the type of fighter that always overcame adversity. In an almost scripted fasion he dispatched of younger fighters that always seemed to have an insurmountable advantage. In the fourth installment of his documentary he was faced up with a Russian competitor that had just beat one of his best friends.(The former champion died in the ring) But in true American fasion he willed up yet another victory from the jaws of defeat. It was exposed in this documentary that the Russian fighter was doping.I thought to myself, "Well you know Russians will do anything they can to get the advantage on US Americans. WE sure are better then THEY are." This story will always stick in my head just like Todd explaining to us how all Russians are. I still even remember the Russian fighters name, I could never forget how much I hated Ivan Drago.

Hey Todd, just because you are not picking out someone with different color skin and are trying to recruit YOUR American brethren into your ignorance doesn't make you any less of a mindless drone biggot with as fictional of beliefs as the Rocky movie I described earlier.

I don't like that Fedor is refusing to fight the best fighters in the HW division,in my opinion, but this has alot to do with management and nothing to do with ethnicity.
