PRESS RELEASE:Ever since Affliction announced late last week that its "Trilogy" event scheduled for Aug. 1 had been canceled, the combat sports world collectively has waited for an official response from former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko.
On Wednesday, Emelianenko will address the media for the first time since last week's sudden cancellation. During the press conference, Emelianenko will discuss the ramifications of the cancellation, comment on his future in the fight game, and respond to questions from members of the media.
"Since the cancellation, there has been a great deal of speculation regarding Fedor and M-1," said Vadim Finkelchtein, whose M-1 Global fight company not only produces international MMA events but also manages Fedor. "On Wednesday, the media and fans will be able to hear what's going on with Fedor from the man himself."
Emelianenko, considered by most pundits to be the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world, had been scheduled to fight top contender Josh Barnett. A win over Barnett would have marked the sixth former UFC heavyweight champion that Emelianenko has defeated in his career. Unfortunately, Emelianenko was denied his opportunity after the California State Athletic Commission announced last Wednesday that Barnett would not be granted a license in time for the fight.

yes he tested psitive for steroids.....and look what happen affliction is done now and ufc profits in many ways......i smell a con! a little conspiracy! some kinda scam? i dont think barnett is the type to do steroids.....
i may be wrong but i think barnett tested positive for steroids before. and yes this could be a master plot by Vince Mcmahon oh excuse me I mean Dana White in order to make more money and continue to exploit the sport!
does it matter if dana is gettin money as long as he is puttin on the fights people want to see and they are actually good then oh well and what do you mean by sayin vince mcmahon dana had a talk with brock after that fight what do you want him to do spank him im sure if he does it again there will be a fine from dana

I hate conspiracy theories but this time I truly belive that UFC somehow was involved for Afflictions demise and maybe even for Barnets positive test!!!!
yes barnett has done steroids before and thats why he left the ufc years ago. he then went to japan and did pro wrestling a little and some mma there because they dont have a steroid policy in place there.... but about brock, its as simple as this, if he's doing steroids then he'll be caught because they test every fighter before fights and they have to pass the drug tests in order to fight

Affiction got what they want. Remember the only reason they started a mma promotion is because ufc banned there products being used by there fighters. Now that Affiction well be sponsoring ufc affiction got what they want. Do the only people loss anything is m-1 global.

There is no conspiracy Barnett has used roids more then once, most of you guys are butt hurt over lesnar, he doesn't use steroids. And Affliction was banned from the ufc because they started promoting fights. God, do some research.
Wow I didn't know there where so many Idiots on this web site. 1) Barnett has gotten caught for using the roids in the past. 2) Brock is just a big dude, he always has been and he always will be. The only reason he looks a little smaller now is because he has to meet the 265 weight max. 3) Affliction cause there own demise by paying fighter and exorbitant amount of money (i.e. Arlovski). 4) Dana doesn't need Fedor, granted he wants him but he doesn't need him. Especially with Brock as the star. All you conspiracy theorist are so stupid. Damn straight Dana doesn't need Fedor. Anyone that calls Fedor #1P4P at this point is nuts. Who will fedor fight now? Overeem was knocked out by Chuck and Shogun. Brett Rogers has only fought Andrei Glassjawski. Werdum is another UFC cast-off. Do I want to see Fedor in the big leagues, hell yes. Does it have to happen to keep my intrigue, hell no! GSP or King Anderson are without a doubt P4P best. BJ, Brown and even Urijah are right up there as well. Hell I even give a nod to Nick Diaz for honing his game while outside of the Octagon,he fights all comers regardless of weightclass. Fedor is on the list,but he needs to fight top guys to be the top guy at this point. He was so dominant in Pride, it is a shame to see him fight in here today gone tomorrow fight premotions. With or without Fedor I still want to see Carwin remove Brocks teeth.
