A little over a week after the UFC president railed at former light heavyweight champ Quinton Jackson's desire to play B.A. Baracus in an upcoming remake of "The A Team," a report from The Sun states that Jackson has indeed landed the role, nixing an MTV report that called the UK tabloid "lying liars" and said Jackson was not cast as the latter day Mr. T.
Adding gasoline to the fire is the report's claim that Jackson has passed on a fight with Rashad Evans at 107 in his hometown of Memphis because filming won't give him time for a proper training camp. The rival coaches of TUF 10 were supposed to squash their bad blood at the Dec. 12 event.
Jervis Cole, Evans' manager, had no comment about the rumored change.
The change scratches half the Southern card's star power, with a lightweight match-up between BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez now the front runner to headline. A heavyweight match-up between Frank Mir and Cheik Kongo has also been rumored for the main card.

This sounds alot like a Fedor debate I have been having. Rampage does not pull the strings here. There is harm and foul if the fight has to be pushed back. Is Rashad supposed to just sit back until Rampage is ready? What about the UFC for that matter? No fighter is bigger than the sport, if you sign a fight agreement you honor it. If Dana pushes this back how many other fighters are going to try this shit. I could see if this was due to an injury, but even then fighters have lost title shots due to pulling out of fights. Alot can change in the time lost due to a fighter pushing back a fight. NO ONE FIGHTER IS BIGGER THAN THE SPORT. If Rampage pulls out of a fight the UFC has already hyped way before the fact, hell they made him a TUF coach, I would have Rashad fight someone else and Rampage could fight two way lesser opponents to get back to contender status. Fighting a guy of Rashads stature in the LHW division can catapult you to a title shot in one fight, this needs to be taken seriousley. Hell with a narrow win over Rashads teammate Jardine, maybe Rampage is looking for a way out of this fight. Last time someone got in his face before a fight the way Rashad did rampage ended up knocked out lying on the ring ropes of Pride FC due to a Wanderlei Silva flurry of bad intentions.

Cash is king in the entertainment industry, however the premise of the ultimate fighter is the coaches fight shortly after the end of of the show. Not 4 or 5 months later when your hollywood thing is up. Considering the UFC did so much sweeping after a certain escalated car chase.

Anybody who has the chance to possibly make millons and not even take a punch is stupid or a punk is ridiculous. Rampage has been a champion and beatdown numerous top fighters. His legacy as a fighter is set regardless of whether he ever fights again. When you have the opportunity to possibly provide for your family for generations to come, it would be moronic not to consider it. Fighting is dangerous and every fight could be your last. As much as I would love to see this fight, I couldn't blame him for jumping on an opportunity that could possibly provide more than MMA could under the best of circumstances. As for someone saying they would turn it down because you would have to fight someone you hated so badly, would you turn down an incredible job because some guy in your hometown was going to be around that day and you would finally get a chance to "whip his ass"? I realize that this is simplfying the situation, but the premise is the same.
Rashaad is getting screwed in this deal bad. I personally think Rampage would've beat him down, but this is going to turn in to a Hughes-Serra deal. by the time they fight, the hype will have died down a good deal. Rampage is one of my favorites and this will raise his profile and if the movie does well, he'll bring over more cross over fans to MMA. There is also a chance that he retires and goes Hollywood. I wanted to see those two go at it, but at the end of the day it's up to Rampage and I'm sure his Manager wouldn't send him down this road if they didn't think it was the $mart way to go.

Actually they are under contract already with the UFC. As a part of that contract, they sign bout agreements when a fight is scheduled and yes, if the fight was already "official" then the bout agreements would have already been signed. (Not a lawyer but I play one on TV. Actually, I graduated from Law School but never took the bar exam).

The biggest problem I have with this is it was already agreed to happen in December. As the money situation goes, Rampage makes a ton. The UFC is like the PGA, they may not pay much, but all the endorsements sure do. Rampage may make $350K per fight, but there's win bonuses, fight bonuses, and all the endorsements. I'm sure he's pulling in more than 3 Mill a year. I figure he probably won't have a future in acting so he might as well stick to what he's good at. I am a Rampage fan so I hope he does fight. If that was one of us driving that monster truck, we would be sitting to this day. After is what bothers me, alot of fans beleived in and 100% backed Rampage. The UFC rewarded him with another opportunitie in TUF. I would like to see where people obtained the info that he will be paid 3.5 million for an off again on again movie that has taken 5 years to get off the ground. We are also comparing his fighter salary alone. We are forgetting TUF salary and endorsements, that was all part of the deal. Rampage is taking a risk at burning a bridge with the UFC, while under contract he will not be able to fight elsewhere. The UFC only signs exclusive contracts. So all I can say to Rampage is tread lightly Bro, you are without a doubt a high profile fighter in his prime. You always complained that not having a good enough team to train with is what held you back, this has been adressed and fixed.
